No surprise but I just saw it in the Enquirer that CCH guard Kurt Bovard will be joining fellow backcourt running mate Todd Jacobs at Thomas More next season. Good get for the new TMC coach and hopefully these two will show that its cool for the NKY kids to go to TMC now.

First congrats to Kurt on continuing his career with the Saints----Good academics and an up & coming basketball program!!

 

On the other matter, I think that's still up in the air? Bryan Niemeyer has committed to TMC for golf, Matt Lloyd and Josh Kidney will be attending TMC and playing soccer, with another senior possible for baseball (all basketball players); but so far no Mustangs are cast in stone for hoops. They've got the makings of a pretty good intramural team though!!

Congrats to bovard, this has been a good year for kids from this area going on and playing at the next level.

Not 100% sure yet, but I hear he's probably attending EKU so he can enroll in the Fire Fighting program they have. He's always wanted to be a firefighter. But we'll see.

 

I hear that St. Henry's Jordan Griffin has decided to continue his basketball career at Whitenberg, a solid D-3 school. And that Michael Rechtin, forward at St. Henry, who struggled with back problems the second half of the season, is possibly headed to play at Transy.

I hope not I hate to hear stories like this.

Thomas More gets some pretty good talent, a kid from the 15th region went there a year or so and played. He was probabily one of the top prospect to come out of our area potentially but he couldn't make the grades I believe, its a tough school.

I think TMC's Coach Ellenwood will be (or should be) the beneficiary of any "broadening of the scope" that NKU may be contimplating!! If they (NKU) look to go the JUCO or D-1 transfer route to beef up their recruiting, especially if they are preparing to go the D-1 route when the new facility opens; look for TMC to work the locals (including the Cincy schools) much heavier, and I'd expect them to have some success!! They've got a lot to offer there with fine academics, a nice facility, good young coaching staff, etc.; and right now they've got another great selling point--Opportunity to Play!!
