Pretty sure one girl from Wolfe and one girl from Menifee had 39 and 36 respectively. I guess it`s safe to say they carried the proverbial load tonight.

That`s wonderful. Congrats to Mary. She was quite a competitor. I remember seeing her play in the Kentucky all star games and also the state tournament.

No they are not. The rule states that the band may not play during a live ball.

Don`t really care who she was playing against. I`m just stating that she appeared to have some athletic ability and the potential to grow as a player. Sometimes a player can show certain skills and not have good numbers on a given night. This is just the second time I saw her and she seemed to stand out as an athlete both times. I`m sure coach Bradley and staff will try to help her improve her game over the next few years so that she CAN excel against seniors.

I heard something happened in the Lewis County game this afternoon. Maybe....something about two guys coming out of the crowd.

With just the little bit I saw her I would not be surprised if she is one of the "SPECIAL" players before her high school days are over.

Who was the young girl that played in the fourth quarter for Ashland? I believe she wore number 23 and blocked a few shots, took the ball coast to coast and seemed to be extremely athletic.

Don't have scores but I believe it was East over Pendleton by about ten and Hunt. St. Joe over Elliott by about the same. Russell beat Pike Central by about twenty. Haven't heard about the Kittens and Belfry

IF I remember correctly....................Class "A" classification is locked in for two years at a time. It is very possible that Bath County was under the limit the previous season when the totals were declared and over this season. I think that when West Carter played their final year in the Class "A" they were actually over the limit as well.

Absolutely not correct. As a courstesy the officials normally try to make sure players are lined up properly. It is NOT the officials job to COACH. If the DEFENSIVE player does NOT occupy the bottom spot................it IS a violation on the defensive team. If the shot is missed.....it will be awarded again. When the OFFENSIVE player occupies the spot it is a viloation on the offensive team. This makes it a double violation. The DEFENSE MUST and the OFFENSE CANNOT. Nothing else really matters. Nothing to correct. This is NOT my opinion---------it is the RULE. Too bad this happened in such a close game.

I just spoke with one of the administrators and he said that in the first 2 minutes and 31 seconds that there were 12 fouls called along with a technical and an intentional AND a double foul. I just think sometimes way too many of us want to automatically blame the refs. Thankless job is all I`ve got to say. LOL He said that if a player got off the bus and slipped and fell someone would blame the refs. Maybe he`s right.

If the refs lost control BUT they called more fouls than a normal half along with 2 technicals an intentional and the double bonus both ways in the first eight minutes then.............................I wonder who ACTUALLY lost control. Just a thought but I am not sure it was the striped shirts to blame for all the whistles. Were they experienced?

:argue: KHSAA Rule Book: Rule 9-Section 4-Article 3j.--No player or nonplayer shall: Strike an opponent with his fist, ..., nor kick or knee him. PENALTY: Fighting, ..., striking, kicking, or kneeing.--15 yards and disqualification. While talking with several members of this officiating crew right after the game, the official who threw the flag saw the leg go back towards the Raceland player, thus giving him the impression that he was 'kicking or kicking at' him. He did not see the Raceland player holding the LCA players' foot. Another official who was coming up towards the play, saw the same thing- #18 looking down at the Raceland player and making a 'kicking' motion towards him. He did not see the Raceland player holding #18's foot. Now, on the 'original' clip that was posted on this thread, #57, on Friday night, you could see that the Raceland player did indeed have ahold of the LCA player's foot, and you should have also seen that #18's foot was in fact in the act of going towards the Raceland players head. Thus, by rule, what they saw and what they called, was correct. But, per the conversation that the Referee had with the LCA coach at the time that it happened about the 'holding of the foot', the crew requested to get a copy of the game film and review it. I spoke with them again on Monday, and they agreed that what they saw [the leg going towards the opponents head] and penalized was the result of the Raceland player holding #18's leg, and just the natural 'motion' of trying to get his foot loose; it was not 'intentional' as it appeared in 'live speed'. It was their decision to contact the KHSAA and ask to have the player's eligibility re-instated for this Friday. Pretty good piece of officiating by a crew that had already been paid for their job, game was over, but still worked hard on getting the call right! And "That's all I have to say about that".

East defeated Bath County and Russell beat Fleming County. Fleming then defeated Bath Co.

It was also good to see you and your daughter again. I look forward to seeing her work along side Sarah Driver. Wow ---- what a combo !!!!!

I had the pleasure of going to watch all three games and I must say that the Kentucky coaching staff was an absolute class act as was the entire roster of Kentucky players. Balls, strikes, safes and outs were not questioned , complained about or argued. They just went with the decision and played the game. It was awesome to see all of that talent assembled together on one team. I`ll bet it was a blast to coach that group for a few days. Congrats Kentucky gals and Congrats Samantha. You made you state proud.

I believe the Bowersock girl from Morgan Co. and Abby Sears from North Laurel are going there next year. Bubba does a nice job the and has really brought that program from the bottom to the top with excellent recruiting and discipline.
