  1. Manual in Louisville lost their tournament scheduled for the fall (Zionsville IN is not continuing their event) Any school host an in-season tourney that would be willing to add us?
  2. Manual plays all of the top 5 and 7 of the top 15 on that list. South lost too much to be #1 Oldham seems high at 11 but who knows.
  3. Manual Girls Soccer has one game we would like to add. We have availability on: Aug 19 (home or away), Aug 21 (away), or Sept 30 (home or away) Please reply, DM me, or email - jason.white@jefferson.kyschools.us Thanks.
  4. I can't speak on anyone else - but FWIW, I know in the Manual games listed above (Pres and FP last season), the starting 5 played maybe a quarter and a half in each game. Sometimes it's just a mismatch
  5. Cooper and Mercy will likely play in the Q finals - the winner to likely play Manual in the semis - and the winner of that likely to play SHA in the final - some quality match-ups!!
  6. Not Frank, but St. Henry's field is really nice. I have a daughter that plays for Manual. We really enjoyed the new facility. The pitch is great, the stands are super well done (love the picnic tables at the top) and the sound system was very clear.
  7. Manual in Louisville is looking to add a home game to its fall 2022 schedule. Please reply or email jason.white@jefferson.kyschools.us if interested. Thanks
  8. 19 teams started the season - only 8 remain!! Let's take a look at the Region 6 tourney!! Quarter Final #1 - Faridale @ Doss Fairdale (14-17) lost in the D21 final to PRP. The Dawgs are led by So.'s Dalton Hicks(18.8ppg) and Jacob Tucker (18.2ppg). Scoring is usually not an issue for Fairdale, but can they stop Doss (22-7), who should be feeling very confident after winning the very strong 22nd district. Doss is lead by the strong duo of sr.'s Inslee Carroll (18.0ppg) and Tony Moss (16.2ppg). Quarter Final #2 - Bullitt East @ Evangel Bullitt East (17-13) lost to J-town in the D24 final. BE is lead by Sr. Tucker Blandford, who averages 16ppg. Evangel (21-10) has ended the season on a nice win streak. Unfortunately, leading scorer Christian Spalding suffered a knee injury during the district tourney and is out for the season. G. Kyran Tilley (11ppg) and jr. C Cyr Malonga will have to step up in his absence. Quarter Final #3 - Butler @ PRP Butler (18-13) beat Western to advance to the 22D final, but lost to Doss. They then draw their rival in PRP, who won the regular season match-up in 2OT! Butler is led by the trio of Mershon Dickerson (16.7ppg), Chavez Woods (12.9ppg) and Julion Beard (11.6ppg). PRP (22-6) easily went through D21 and will be excited to have Butler at home this time. PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with 6th Region POY, jr. PG Zee McCown (19.3ppg), jr. F Keith Robinson (17.2ppg), and sr. C Vic Lado (15ppg). Quarter Final #4 - Bullitt Central @ J-town Bullitt Central (19-11) lost to Evangel in the D23 final. They are led by G Hunter Coleman (22.0ppg). Jeffersontown (21-8) won district 24 and is led by the Vasser brothers (sr. Will 13.7ppg and so. Dre 12.8ppg), but F Lavonte Harris, G Terrall Cleaves and W Xavier Price all chip-in, averaging around 10ppg. I don't see where Doss isn't the favorite to come out to the finals on their half of the bracket. They are a mature team (some 5 year players), athletic, and have some strong shooters, namely Carroll. If Evangel was full-strength, it might be a different story, but with their injuries, I give Bullitt East a punchers chance at the upset in round 1. The PRP/Butler game will be a battle. Both teams give each other match-up problems. Butler has a hard time with Lado under the basket, but Butler's bigger guards give PRP some issues in the half court. It will be a 1-2 possession game, but I give PRP the nod at home. J-town will likely cruise in their opener, but I like whomever wins the PRP/Butler game in that semifinal. PRP will play with a chip on their shoulder to revenge their opening week loss @ J-town, and Butler I think is a bit tougher. IF it is a PRP/Doss final - I like PRP's chances. Again, I think Lado is a tough match-up for Doss down low, and PRP has had Doss number of late. GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS!!
  9. Now that the regular season has ended, lets look at the District Tournaments in the 6th Region: District 21 This District is all about PRP (#2 in last weeks rankings). While the Panthers lost to district 22 Top seed Western in Double OT last week, they have had a great season (20-6) and should be poised to make a Regional Run. PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with jr. PG Zee McCown (19.3ppg), jr. F Keith Robinson (17.2ppg), and sr. C Vic Lado (15ppg). PRP will face the Holy Cross(14-15)/ Valley(5-23) winner in the semis. The other semi-final should have some intrigue. Fairdale (13-16) has So.'s Dalton Hicks(18.8ppg) and Jacob Tucker (18.2ppg), who give Fairdale a solid 1-2 punch. They will be facing Beth Haven (22-6) where Sr. F Luka Mateski is averaging a team high 24.1ppg (leads the region.) Fairdale won the regular season contest by 5, but that was played back in December. Will Fairdale get back to the region (where they are usually a mainstay), or will Beth Haven reach their 2nd Regional in a row? Prediction: PRP beats Fairdale in final District 22 Unlike D21 above, this Region is CRAZY. Any of the 5 teams could win. The play in game alone is a great game. Butler (16-12) made the LIT final, has beaten both Male and J-town, but find themselves only the 4th seed in the district and have to play DeSales (14-13) AT DeSales. Butler is led by the trio of Mershon Dickerson (16.7ppg), Chavez Woods (12.9ppg) and Julion Beard (11.6ppg). DeSales has a more balanced attack, with 4 players averaging double figures, and definitely has the size advantage. A Toss-up game for sure. Waiting in the wings for the winner of this game is Western (23-4) Fresh off a 2OT win @ PRP, you could easily say they have had the most impressive regular season of any 6th Region team. Jr. G Trent Hinkle leads the team in scoring at 15.2ppg, but they also have tremendous size and when fr. G Kaden Magwood is hitting from outside (had 23 in the PRP win), this team will be a very tough out the rest of the season. The other semi is Doss (20-7) vs Iroquois (22-5). Doss is lead by the strong duo of sr.'s Inslee Carroll (18.0ppg), Tony Moss (16.2ppg). Iroquois, on the other hand, has four starters averaging 10p + a game. Doss won at home recently in the regular season match up, can the Q turn the tables at a neutral court?? Prediction: Western beats Doss in final (but truly all 5 teams have a chance) District 23 Will the real Evangel (19-10) please stand up? After a slow start, the Eagles have started to gel and look to be the heavy favorite to advance. Evangel is led by Guards Christian Spalding (13.7ppg) and G. Kyran Tilley (11ppg) w/ jr. C Cyr Malonga controlling the middle. They will face the winner of North Bullitt(9-19) /Southern (12-13) in one semi-final. Southern started their 21-22 campaign strong, and are led by the underrated sr. G Cam Pfiester (17.6ppg). I really don't anticipate an upset, but Southern does have the talent and size to somewhat match Evangel. The other semi is Bullitt Central (18-10), who is led by player of the region candidate Hunter Coleman (22.0ppg), and Moore(6-21). BC is the favorite here, but only won the regular season match-up by 3. Don't let the record fool you, Moore is an athletic bunch, and if they can clean up some self-inflicted mistakes, they can beat the Cougars. Prediction: Evangel over Bullitt Central in the final District 24 J-Town (19-8) is the favorite to win this District. Their depth and athleticism is a tough combo. The Vasser brothers (sr. Will 13.7ppg and so. Dre 12.8ppg) have been leading the way for the Chargers, but F Lavonte Harris, G Terrall Cleaves and W Xavier Price all chip-in, averaging around 10ppg. They will face Whitefield Academy (8-19) in the first semifinal. The other semi will be a battle. Fern Creek (11-15) will face Bullitt East (16-12). Fern Creek has the athletes and scoring ability to give any team issues. Sr. Darian Lewis (possible POY in 6th region) is pacing FC at 15.9ppg. BE is also lead by a POT candidate, Tucker Blandford, who also avg. 15.9ppg. Fern Creek won the regular season match-up, but J. Schooler might miss this game for FC. Prediction - J-town over Bullitt East in the final Next week we will preview and attempt to predict the 6th Region tournament!!
  10. The 6th region tournament is shaping up to be one to remember! Going into this last week of the regular season, let's see what's shaking this week in the 6th!! 1. Jeffersontown (18-7) The Chargers will likely enter the post-season in the #1 spot of the rankings. They have an intriguing match up with Butler on 2/15. 2. PRP (18-5) The Panthers beat arch-rival Butler last week in 2OT and will stay in the #2 spot for another week. PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with jr. PG Zee McCown (19.3ppg), jr. F Keith Robinson (17.2ppg), and sr. C Vic Lado (15ppg). Jr. G Greg Cole has also asserted himself lately, contributing at 10pg and taking pressure off of McCown at the point. PRP host HFC on 2/16 before a HUGE game, hosting Western on 2/18. 3. Western (21-4) The Warriors could easily be in the top spot, but currently sit at #3. Jr. G Trent Hinkle leads the team in scoring at 15.2ppg, and is starting to earn some Region POY buzz. Julius Edmonds and fr. Kaden Magwood are also main contributors (both 13ppg) on this deep and very athletic team. Next up for Western is Moore on 2/15 before a BIG game @ PRP on 2/18. 4. Doss (18-7) Doss has been in the top 5 all season and has avoided the dreaded 4/5 game in the tough 22nd district. The Dragons are lead by the strong duo of sr.'s Inslee Carroll (18.0ppg), Tony Moss (16.2ppg). They next host Fairdale on 2/15. 5. Iroquois (21-4) The Raiders hold at #5. The Q is paced by sr. Davion Burton (12.2ppg), but jr. Jordan Williamson (12.0ppg) is among FOUR starters that average double digits. They next play South Oldham on 2/15 6. Butler (15-12) I guarantee there isn't a better 12 loss team in the state than Butler. Mershon Dickerson (16.7ppg), Julion Beard (11.6ppg), and Chavez Woods (12.9ppg) lead Butler in scoring. The Bears travel to J-town on 2/15 for a possible Region tourney preview game. 7. Evangel (16-9) WATCH OUT - the Eagles are now full-strength and might be rounding into form (nice win over KY top-20 Madison Central). Guards Christian Spalding (13.9ppg) is pacing Evangel, w/ jr. C Cyr Malonga controlling the middle and G. Kyran Tilley (10.1ppg) chipping in. The Eagles next travel to Warren Central on 2/15 8. Fern Creek (11-13) Fern Creek has the athletes and scoring ability to give any team issues. A team you don't want to see come Region time. Sr. Darian Lewis is pacing FC at 15.9ppg, and fellow sr. G Jaden Schooler is at 13.4ppg. They next travel to PRP on 2/15 9. DeSales (12-12) The Colts currently have a balanced attack, with 4 players averaging double figures (Will Gibson leads team at 15.6ppg) They next host Bullitt East on 2/15 10. Bullitt East (15-11) BE has been on the improve and might be ready to make some noise come tourney time. Sr. Tucker Blandford is the leader of BE (15.9ppg) - they travel to DeSales on 2/15 11. Southern (11-12) The Trojans have lost some of their early season momentum, but could still cause some issues in the post-season The Trojans are led by sr. G Cam Pfiester (17.6ppg)- who I think is one of the most underrated players in the region- and jr. Xavier Shobe (12.0ppg). Next up for the Trojans is a date with Valley on 2/15. 12. Bullitt Central (18-8) Senior Hunter Coleman is leading BC at 22.0ppg. 13. Fairdale (11-15) So.'s Dalton Hicks(18.8ppg) and Jacob Tucker (18.2ppg) give Fairdale a solid 1-2 punch. 14. Beth Haven (20-6) Sr. F Luka Mateski is averaging a team high 24.1ppg (leads the region). 15. Holy Cross (13-13) so. F Jacob Hand is leading HC is scoring at 20ppg. 16. Moore (6-18) 17. North Bullitt (9-17) 18. Valley (4-22) 19. Whitefield Academy (7-17)
  11. The 6th region tournament is shaping up to be one to remember - let's see what's shaking this week in the 6th!! 1. Jeffersontown (16-6) The Chargers, based off another 2-0 week, keep the top spot in the rankings. The Vasser brothers (sr. Will 13.6ppg and so. Dre 13.4ppg) have been leading the way for the Chargers, but F Lavonte Harris, G Terrall Cleaves and W Xavier Price all chip-in, averaging around 10ppg. They next play Moore on 2/8, but have an intriguing match up with old rival Ballard this weekend. 2. PRP (17-4) The Panthers have rebounded nicely from their LIT disappointment with some nice wins. PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with jr. PG Zee McCown (18.5ppg), jr. F Keith Robinson (18.1ppg), and sr. C Vic Lado (14.6ppg). Jr. G Greg Cole has also asserted himself lately, contributing at 10pg and taking pressure off of McCown at the point. PRP host HFC on Wed 2/9 3. Western (19-4) The Warriors bounced back this week with some nice wins, including a big district win over Butler (locks them in the 1 seed for the district tourney). Jr. G Trent Hinkle leads the team in scoring at 14.8ppg, and is starting to earn some Region POY buzz. Julius Edmonds and fr. Kaden Magwood are also main contributors (both 12ppg) on this deep and very athletic team. Next up for Western is Southern on 2/8. 4. Iroquois (18-3) The Raiders hold at #4 with a 2-0 week. The Q is paced by sr. Davion Burton (13.2ppg), but jr. Jordan Williamson (12.2ppg) is among FOUR starters that average double digits. They next host Thomas Nelson on 2/8 5. The Bears play Valley on 2/8. 7. Evangel (13-8) WATCH OUT - the Eagles are now full-strength and might be rounding into form (nice win over KY top-20 Woodford Co.). Guards Christian Spalding (13ppg) and Kyran Tilley (10.1ppg) are pacing Evangel so far, w/ jr. C Cyr Malonga controlling the middle. The Eagles next host Madison Central on 2/7 8. Southern (11-9) The Trojans have lost their last 2 games, but played J-town and Doss very tough. The Trojans are led by sr. G Cam Pfiester (19.1ppg)- who I think is one of the most underrated players in the region- and jr. Xavier Shobe (12.0ppg). Next up for the Trojans is a date with Western on 2/8. 9. Fern Creek (8-12) Sr. Darian Lewis is pacing FC at 16.1ppg, and fellow sr. G Jaden Schooler is at 13.7ppg. They next host Fairdale on 2/8 10. Fairdale (11-12) So.'s Dalton Hicks(19ppg) and Jacob Tucker (18.7ppg) give Fairdale a solid 1-2 punch. 12. Bullitt East (11-10) Sr. Tucker Blandford is the leader of BE (15.9ppg) 13. F Jacob Hand is leading HC is scoring at 20ppg. 16. North Bullitt (8-14) 17. Valley (3-20) 18. Moore (4-16) 19. Whitefield Academy (6-14)
  12. The 6th region tournament is shaping up to be one to remember - let's see what's shaking this week in the 6th!! 1. Jeffersontown (14-6) The Chargers, based off an impressive 2-0 week (defeating Manual by 20!), bounce back to the top spot! The Vasser brothers (sr. Will 14.1ppg and so. Dre 13.1ppg) have been leading the way for the Chargers, but F Lavonte Harris, G Terrall Cleaves and W Xavier Price all chip-in, averaging around 10ppg. They next play Central on 1/31 2. PRP (17-4) The Panthers have rebounded nicely from their LIT disappointment with some nice wins. PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with jr. PG Zee McCown (18.5ppg), jr. Valley (3-19) 18. Moore (3-15) 19. Whitefield Academy (6-13)
  13. I thought so as well. From the outside looking in, it seems that Evangel had a rough start with all the new players, but might be rounding into form. I don't know what to tell you about Desales. They play almost everyone close, but have few quality wins to show for it.
  14. January is almost over and the 6th region tournament is shaping up to be one to remember - let's see what's shaking this week in the 6th!! 1. Western (17-3) The Warriors reclaim the top spot after knocking off J-town at J-town in a rematch of their LIT game. Jr. G Trent Hinkle leads the team in scoring at 14.6ppg, and is starting to earn some Region POY buzz. Julius Edmonds and fr. Kaden Magwood are also main contributors (both 12ppg) on this deep and very athletic team. They tend to suffocate opponents with their speed and length inside. Next up for Western is Seneca on 1/28 2. Jeffersontown (13-6) Heavy is the head that wears the crown! J-Town went 1-2 last week - highlighted by a Western loss in their match-up on 1/18. The Vasser brothers (sr. Will 14.1ppg and so. Dre 13.1ppg) have been leading the way for the Chargers, but F Lavonte Harris, G Terrall Cleaves and W Xavier Price all chip-in, averaging around 10ppg. They have the athleticism and depth to give any team trouble. J-town will next face Manual in an intriguing cross-region match-up on 1/25 3. PRP (15-4) The Panthers have rebounded nicely from their LIT disappointment with some nice wins. PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with jr. PG Zee McCown (18.4ppg), jr. F Keith Robinson (18.1ppg), and sr. C Vic Lado (14.1ppg). Jr. G Greg Cole has also asserted himself lately, contributing at 10.pg and taking pressure off of McCown at the point. The Panthers struggle with lack of depth on the bench some games, but their starting 5 (6 when Dixon is healthy) can play with anyone. PRP next travel to Holy Cross on 1/28. 4. Iroquois (16-3) The Raiders continue to rise in the rankings - they had a HUGE win at Butler this week in district play. The Q is paced by sr. Davion Burton (13.4ppg), but jr. Jordan Williamson (11.8ppg) is among FOUR starters that average double digits. They next host Shawnee on 1/27. 5. Doss (15-7) The Dragons are lead by the strong duo of sr.'s Inslee Carroll (18.7ppg), Tony Moss (16ppg). They have an experienced squad and will likely stay in the top 5 most of the season. Next up for Doss is a big district game vs. Butler on 1/28. 6. Butler (13-9) The Bears, coming off of making the LIT final, had a rough week - losing to both Manual and Iroquois. Mershon Dickerson (1767ppg), Julion Beard (11.6ppg), and Chavez Woods (12.0ppg) lead Butler in scoring. The Bears travel to Doss for a BIG district match-up on 1/28 7. Southern (11-7) The Trojans went 1-1 this week. The Trojans are led by sr. G Cam Pfiester (18.9ppg) and jr. Xavier Shobe (12.0ppg). Next up for the Trojans is a date with J-town on 1/27. 8. Evangel (8-7) The Eagles have used the all A classic to find their rhythm. Guards Christian Spalding (13.2ppg) and Kyran Tilley (11.4ppg) are pacing Evangel so far, w/ jr. C Cyr Malonga controlling the middle. The Eagles next play KCD in the All A State tourney on 1/27. 9. Fern Creek (8-12) The Tigers continue to play a very tough schedule - losing this week to Ballard and J-town. As expected, sr. Darian Lewis is pacing FC at 16.1ppg, and fellow sr. G Jaden Schooler is at 13.7ppg. They next host Greenwood on Feb 4. 10. Bullitt East (10-8) The Chargers went 1-1 for the week, and had a nice upset win over CAL Sr. Tucker Blandford is the leader of BE (15.9ppg) but jr. G Nolan Davenport is chipping in at 12.2ppg. Up next for BE is a home game vs. Waggener on 1/28 11. DeSales (8-10) DeSales is another team that plays a difficult schedule. The Colts currently have a balanced attack, with 4 players averaging double figures (Carter Bischoff leads team at 15.9ppg) They next at CAL on 1/28. 12. Fairdale (10-11) So.'s Jacob Tucker(18.7ppg) and Dalton Hicks (18.6ppg) give Fairdale a solid 1-2 punch. Up next is Atherton on 1/28. 13. Bullitt Central (15-6) Senior Hunter Coleman is leading BC at 23ppg. (made all LIT team) 14. Holy Cross (10-9) so. F Jacob Hand is leading HC is scoring at 21.3ppg. 15. Beth Haven (15-4) Sr. F Luka Mateski is averaging a team high 24.9ppg (leads the region). 16. Valley (3-19) 17. North Bullitt (5-13) 18. Moore (3-15) 19. Whitefield Academy (6-12)
  15. The LIT is over and it caused some movement in the rankings - let's see what's up in the 6th Region: 1. Jeffersontown (11-4) The Chargers, after winning the South Oldham Holiday Classic, gave Western their first region loss of the season in the LIT,and then gave Ballard all they wanted, but lost in the QF. The Vasser brothers (sr. Will 15.1ppg and so. Dre 13ppg) have been leading the way for the Chargers, but F Lavonte Harris, G Terrall Cleaves and W Xavier Price all chip-in, averaging around 10ppg. They have the athleticism to give any team trouble. J-town will have to prove that they deserve the top spot - hosting Western in a rematch of their LIT game on 1/18 2. Western (15-3) The Warriors, coming off a championship in the King of the Smokies in TN, finally lost to a 6th region opponent when J-town beat them in the 2nd round. Jr. G Trent Hinkle leads the team in scoring at 14.3ppg, but Julius Edmonds and fr. Kaden Magwood are also main contributors (both 12ppg) on this deep and very athletic team. They tend to suffocate opponents with their speed and length inside. Next up for Western is the previously mentioned rematch @ J-town on 1/18 3. PRP (12-4) The Panthers, frankly, laid an egg in the LIT - squandering a 20 pt lead and losing to Fern Creek in the second round. However, the resume is too strong to drop them very far. PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with jr. F Keith Robinson - the MAC's MVP (18.2ppg), jr. PG Zee McCown (17.8ppg) and sr. C Vic Lado (14.6ppg). Jr. G Greg Cole has also asserted himself lately, contributing at 10.6ppg and taking pressure off of McCown at the point. The Panthers struggle with lack of depth on the bench some games, but their starting 5 (6 when Dixon is healthy) can play with anyone. PRP next host Southern on 1/19 4.
