It's an exciting time for HS BB - Christmas Break is over - LIT is around the corner!  Let's see what's shaking in the 6th region!

1.  Western (12-2)  The Warriors had a great week - rep'ing the Ville proudly by winning the King of the Smokies in TN.  Jr. G Trent Hinkle leads the team in scoring at 15.4ppg, but Julius Edmonds and fr. Kaden Magwood are close behind at 12ppg each.  Western is long, deep and very athletic.  They will stay on top of the rankings for another week.  They next play DeSales in a huge district match-up on 1/4

1B.  PRP (10-3)  Coming off their impressive win in the MAC's Holiday Classic, the Ridge traveled to Lex Cath to play in their Holiday classic.  Shorthanded, they went 2-2, losing an epic OT battle to Reed Sheppard and North Laurel in the QF.  PRP has an impressive 3-man attack with jr. F Keith Robinson - the MAC's MVP (17.5ppg), jr. PG Zee McCown (16.4ppg)(who had 39 in the N. Laurel game!) and sr. C Vic Lado (14ppg).  The Panthers struggle with lack of depth on the bench some games, but their starting 5 (6 when Dixon is healthy) can play with anyone.  No rest for the Panthers as they host Manual on 1/5 in a rematch of the MAC's final.

3. Doss (8-3)  The Dragons traveled to Illinois to play in the Mater Dei Christmas Tournament and went an impressive 3-1.  The Dragons are lead by the strong duo of sr.'s Inslee Carroll (18.9ppg), Tony Moss (17.4ppg).  They have an experienced squad and will likely stay in the top 5 most of the season.  Next up for Doss is a HUGE district match-up with Butler on 1/4.

4. Jeffersontown (10-2)  The Chargers had a very impressive week - winning the South Oldham Holiday Classic and knocking off highly regarded North Oldham in the semis. The Vasser brothers (sr. Will 15.1ppg and so. Dre 13ppg) have been leading the way for the Chargers.   Up next for J-Town is Waggener on 1/6.

5. Bullitt East  (7-4)  The Chargers went 1-2 this week in the Island Beach Blow-out in Fla.  Sr. Tucker Blandford is the leader of BE (17.2ppg) but jr. G Nolan Davenport is chipping in at 12.2ppg.  Up next for the Chargers is district foe Fern Creek on 1/4

6. Butler  (8-6) Coming off a win in the Madisonville - North Hopkins Holiday Classic, Butler almost pulled a Holiday double, narrowly losing to Marshall Co. in the finals of the Campbellsville Holiday Classic. Mershon Dickerson (16.4ppg) and Julion Beard (12.1ppg) lead Butler in scoring.  The Bears hit the road this week to play Doss in a district game on 1/4

7. DeSales (5-6)    DeSales went 1-2 in the Middletown Holiday Classic @ Eastern.  The Colts currently have a balanced attack, with 4 players averaging double figures (William Gibson leads team at 16ppg)  They next play Western in a big district game on 1/4

8.  Iroquois (11-2)  The  Raiders continue to impress, going 2-1 this week in the Henry Co Invitational. The Q is  paced by sr. Davion Burton (13.1ppg), but have 3 other players averaging double figures.  They next play @ Larue Co. on 1/4

9. Southern  (7-4) The Trojans went 2-1 this week in the South Oldham Holiday Classic. The Trojans are led by sr. G Cam Pfiester (13.8ppg) and sharpshooter Xavier Shobe (14.8ppg).  Next up for the Trojans is Seneca on 1/8

10. Bullitt Central  (9-3) Bullitt Central continues a solid season with a win in the Howard Carpenter Classic @ Mercer Co. Senior Hunter Coleman is leading BC at 20.9ppg.  They play at rival North Bullitt on 1/7

11. Evangel  (4-7)  The Eagles have continued to play a ridiculous schedule -they just got home from Myrtle Beach; going 2-1 in the Beach Ball Classic.  Guards Christian Spalding (13.1ppg) and Kyran Tilley (12.1ppg) are pacing Evangel so far. They next host Central on 1/4

12. Fern Creek (5-8)  The Tigers went 1-2 at the Lake Cumberland Classic. As expected, sr. Darian Lewis is pacing FC at 17ppg.  They next play at Bullitt East in a big district match up on 1/4.
