The 3 kids that impressed me the most last night were Robertson County home grown Schalch(6'4 sophomore),Dotson(5'8 frosh point guard) and Justin Becker(6'4 8th grader). Dixon and Swanston are the most athletic. Schalch and Becker both know what to do with it when they are fed

Bracken County needs a player or two to come out of nowhere and blow up this season, kinda like Dylan Hamilton did years ago for them. It's all about confidence and short term memory loss. Hopefully the light switch comes on for some of these guys. Kids will surprise you year to year when that switch finally comes on

Bracken County hit their ceiling in football this season Winning one home playoff game After that you will always be playing tradition and that's a whole different level Similar to Harrison County in baseball, a lot of these Northeastern and Eastern Kentucky football teams are just another level of high school football even when they have a losing record That being said, I look for Bracken County to repeat this next season Returning Tad, their QB, the Coach and Defensive Coordinator

As this game gets closer, just starting to feel that this game may be closer that what first expected. Bracken D is better than what some expect, just have to bring up to a Paintsville level

Allen's size,build and skill set are comparable to Darius, but he is not at that level(but he is only a junior, so he can and may get there), thinking more Georgetown, Bellarmine or along those levels as of now. You have to be really,really,really good to play D1. He's just really good at this point. He needs an Ohmer-type run in the regional tournament or beyond to showcase his skills. I just think if PC doesn't draw NC in district tournament the next 2 years they may not make it to the Fieldhouse while he is there

I'm thinking results similar to Ludlow going to Beechwood a few weeks back. This would be a monumental upset. The DC has been Bracken's most valuable player this season,maybe he has another superior game plan up his sleeve for the Tigers

Paris' team basically the same,just year older and didn't they also have 2 guys from the basketball team that graduated that were real good last year(Wells and forget other guy). So it's potatoes-potatos. Mason County loses last year to BC and beats them by 10 or so this year, no destroying. Fun thread

BC has a game scheduled with Calvary C on the 27th, so that must be start of the tournament, thought it was just a regular season game.

Agreed. BC beats MC last year,after all they did beat an as good as this year's Paris team at Paris for real,not scrimmage and MaCo wasn't quite the same MaCo they are this year. I think they beat BC this year 10+

Pre-New Year or post New Year? Just asking because last i checked there was nary a sign of this tournament on the BC KHSAA basketball schedule website.

Bracken, I believe has had success against Mason County in Middle School of late and last year,this year and next year would have all been competitive games to watch at the high school level, don't know about BC winning this year, I think their chances would have been better last year. MC much improved and very fast and athletic

In its last few years this tournament had many interesting things happen that isn't what you would call the norm A Louisville team(Iroqouis maybe) took its team home one year after a couple of games because was unhappy with the officiating Anderson County was declared the tournament winner one year when pipes froze in school and gym and tournament couldn't be continued, also was issues with their fans and players if I remember right in a couple of games Brian Kirk's Burgin team was suspended and or disiplined by him for issues at the hotel they were staying in Maysville. He played the tournament with freshman and 8th graders Coach Roderick Rhodes team got lost coming to the gym and delayed the tournament starting These are only the things i can think of off hand

Is this pre-Xmas or post-Xmas? Is it the same round robin format of all the past BCHS Tourneys?

They have already beaten Fairview pretty easily this year,albeit in a pre-season scrimmage. They should have no trouble in this game. How does everyone feel about the Paintsville game? Can BC keep it close or upset? Is it a running clock game? Don't know much about this year's Paintsville squad.
