  1. Officiating was horrid! The trio of refs decided who was going to win the game before tip-off. Several bad calls in the 4th quarter decided the game. Those referees should be ashamed.
  2. Henry looks to me that they will have a nice club next year to go along with that field. One of the nicest kept I have seen.
  3. Under the Lights, You hit the nail on the head. And the support has to come from parents. Not as much fundraising and financial support, because they do that now. But the realization from parents what kind of discipline, dedication, work and time is necessary from their kids in order to see some success. That's what is missing.
  4. This one is very tough to call. I think the game will depend on foul trouble. Owen wins this if Kelsey Williams stays in the game. If she has to sit for very long, they could be in trouble. Same thing for Carroll, if the guard (Gurdy? Girty?)gets in foul trouble like the last time they played. Carroll will have to shoot well from outside, because they got nothing close in the last game at Owen. It should be a good one. Really like both of these coaches.
  5. Owen led all the way. Carroll played a box and one on Gamble till the last few minutes of the 4th quarter, face guarding him and double-teaming when he got the ball. He stiil had 17, plus about 6 steals. Shelton had to sit about half the game due to foul trouble. The only offense Carroll could manage came from Hendrick inside. Owen missed a boatload of foul shots.
  6. I really don't get where you're coming from regarding lack of support. Maybe the wrong decision was made in the coaching hire, but I think that from the BD of ED, Central Office, and school level administration, there is support for a winning program. These kids deserve a coach that can motivate, discipline, and place the right personnel in the game to put them in a position to win. I hope they are successful in finding the right guy.
  7. I think Ogden is far and away the top picher. These others may be good, I have seen them, but they aren't that close.
  8. Every team keeps their own stats. What is the parent going to do with this other set of stats? It is a needless activity and shows something about the parent, like "I have a chip on my shoulder", "My son/daughter is being mistreated", "My son/daughter is better than people really know". I'm sure every parent can come up with a rebound or assist that may have been missed, but if you do , so what? What do you do with that extra assist or rebound? I guess just file it away and become more disgruntled.
  9. That is an excellent assumption. The particulars just need to be worked out.
  10. Yes. Next year. And by the way, it's not the coaching salary that is the draw, it's the teaching salary, and the retirement system, and stability. Plus, I am sure he loves to coach football.
  11. Look for Campbell to be in some capacity at Scott High very soon. Way before June/July.
  12. That score is a shocker. I don't know if Owen was at full strength or not. But I took a look at South Oldham on the scoreboard and they have plastered a few other teams this year. Could be a great night colliding with a really off night.
  13. I agree. I would like to see the shot clock. Also, the charge circle under the basket would be a good addition,IMHO. Officials have trouble making this call anyway, plus it's an injury waiting to happen.
  14. Yes, it's Collin Gamble. He's averaging over 18 a game. He is a junior.
  15. Please draw a semi-circle under the basket, and quit calling charges when the defender is underneath the rim. Also, if the offensive player releases the ball before the contact, the basket should count.
  16. It's not like Owen played lights out. They are capable of playing much better.
  17. I have seen him, and I definitely think he can play somewhere, if that's what he wants. Nice shooter, plays hard and smart.
  18. Didn't say it was an upset. Just that Owen County came back well from a loss.
  19. Rebels regrouped after the setback from Gallatin.
  20. The point is that they are not any younger than anyone else in the district and have more varsity experience than some of the teams.
