madman Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Much closer than I thought it would be. But a win is a win.
Mack The Knife Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Fairly uninspired effort by the Cats, but a win nonetheless. After trailing by 30-21 at half Owen rallied within 43-42 with under 3 minutes left. Jared Carlton scored twice to put Gallatin up 45-42 and 47-44. Trailing 47-46 Owen had a chance to take the lead but an off balanced 3 pointer failed to draw iron with 45 seconds left. Trent Maddox then found a lane to the basket out of the 4 corner offense and laid it in with :20 left for a 49-46 lead. Scott Brown then stole the ball at midcourt and was fouled. His 2 FT with :10 left closed the scoring.
BigCountryBoy Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Ugly game, but a win all the same. They say a mark of a good team is finding ways to win the game even though you are not playing very good.
Hoops111 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Wow, thought this would have been much worse. Congrats to Gallatin on the win and Owen for keeping it so close.

If I added right by the KHSAA scoreboard Gallatin is 23-5 the last 3 seasons in games decide by 6 points or fewer (2 possesions) or OT. And most of these players have been in all of those contests.
creole Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 It's not like Owen played lights out. They are capable of playing much better.
TURBOENNIS Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 DIDN'T THINK THIS WOULD BE THAT CLOSE, GOOD JOB GC.
Lunatic1 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Congrats Gallatin! The Districts should be fairly competitive this year.
buttels Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 With a 5-0 record in district play, Gallatin gets the #3 seed in the district tournament at Owen this year. Owen is the #2 seed with Carroll and Henry both at 1-4 bringing up 3 & 4.
