Harlan County 54 Bell County 50
Me neither, I don't see Bell being as good as many seem to think. Harlan Co. likes to keep the score low in most of their games. This may be a good factor come tourney time when the basket gets smaller for some teams and points are harder to come by.

Former Corbin player now an assistant coach at Whitley Co.
Corey all ways came across to me as a fine young man, I have no doubt he can help WC alot. Does he teach in their school system?

South Laurel/Whitley Predictions
Whitley is a much better team than in the past, but I don't see any answer for St. John, South wins 78 to 62.

Corbin vs LCA @ Lex. Cath (1/10/09)
Could be a tough game there in Lex., but I see the Hounds winning 63 to 53. IMO Corbin could win out the rest of their games in the regular season. The most difficult games may be Wayne Co. and South which are away, and the FCI team a home game.

Pineville 56 Barbourville 52
Mid 60's would put it as old compared to the many new gyms built since then, nice place but still alittle old. I didn't realize Red Bird was built in the mid-80's, its a real trip to that school.

Thanks for the stats, I believe LC has the talent to do much better than this, and if they pick up their D, could come together by the end of the season. As far as letting the ball fly they that seems to be part of their offense and works to their advantage when they are hitting. Other team has a monster night when they are not, because of the lack of good defense.

Pineville 56 Barbourville 52
Off the top of my head I would say... Harlan, OBI, Red Bird, and Pineville are about it. Cumberland and Evarts which shut down last year were classic as well.

Bville actually has a new fairly large, new gym now, not the cracker box of the old days. Pinevile still plays in their VERY old gym. Cordia is straight out of the Hoosier's movie almost.

You got something there, a tough place to play, one of the loudest gyms I have been in.

Corbin 67 Bell County 42
Looks like a good balanced scoring attack, they have several on the bench that can go for double figures at any time as well. I don't see Bell getting as good this year as many think they will, but thats just me.

Pineville 56 Barbourville 52
I agree if KC does win over Pineville and is the number one seed, the other three teams will be a toss up.

Pineville 56 Barbourville 52
Looks like the winner between Pineville and Knox Central will be the first seed in this district. Fine coaching job by Coach Strange after all they lost the last two years.

Man KC must have been on fire, I felt this would be a much closer game after the Panthers game with B'ville last week. Any stats on this one?

What teams will be losing basketball players to Border Bowl?
Why should a athlete DEFINITLELY play an all-star game in the middle of another sports season? The basketball coach is trying to win as many games as he can, if the regular season means nothing why have it? This all-star game is great for football players, but IMO basketball players that have any impact on their basketball team should not risk injury and continue to play b'ball. How many football coaches would give up a wideout, running back, or defensive end for a basketball all-star game in the middle of the season? IMO not many.

Corbin 74 Lexington Catholic 71
TNT FAN Do you think Josh may be a great kid and any school that gets him will get more than a good ballplayer? I agree about Johnson he stood toe to toe with Sanford and even blocked a couple of his shots. By the way I also agree about Josh.

WYMT Tournment
Maybe a little to far for most 13th region teams to travel I guess, IMO the 13th should have at least 2 teams.

Corbin 74 Lexington Catholic 71
Great game to watch! IMO...... 1. The better team won 2. LC is very well coached, a really good team on defense 3. If Corbin can get out of the 13th, and get a good draw for the sweet 16, could be playing on Sat. morning in Rupp 4. #32 for LC is a really good player, who didn't get enough shots for them 5. Looked like a good called game 6. Sanford has alot of tools, but could play more intense, seems to laid back to me. 7. Madison Johnson is developing into a big time talent, sometimes streaky but plays through it until something good happens, his dunk was nice!

Border Bowl game in January
Does KHSAA have anything to do with this event? Any numbers on how many current basketball players are on the roster? Great for football, basketball players should stay with their teams.

Cumberland Falls Invitational Thoughts, etc.
St John is a man inside, South was up big when I left early third, losing their coach must have helped Boyle. How did Boyle cut into the large lead?
-
Closed practices
Nail on the head! Do coaches want to go to their work and watch them? Don't think so.

I watched both games today and came away very impressed with Knox Central they played hard and hit some big shots, Elam actually coached and did a good job of it, if the foul difference is anywhere near whats been said here I would be suprised. All the T's appeared to be well desereved, one againest Gaffney was an assistant off the bench giving the ref. heck and the other was a player saying something. Boyle's coach IMO wanted the first T then just couldn't let it go and tryed to show up Kirk and thats never going to happen, bye, bye. South and Knox should be a great game.

On second thought, you are right if LC plays like they did in the third tonight vs Bell and get themselves in unnecessary foul trouble due to lazy defense they could have a long Sunday afternoon.

Ok got it, but Knox beat Clay early in the year only to get rocked their last game.

Has Bell and LC even played a previous 30 games? Maybe they have. Bell was the better team tonight for sure, a close game in the first half, but LC had a ton of turnovers in the 3rd which helped Bell to a 20plus lead. I think the final margin was a ten point win for Bell. Alot of wide open layups for Bell in the second half. I can't see Bell beating Corbin on Monday, but LC should handle South Floyd on Sunday.

Corbin 100 South Floyd 38
SF didn't look to have much going on, almost like drawing a bye. Madison Johnson looked really sharp and shot the ball very well! It will be alittle tougher vs Bell but I think Corbin reaches the finals.
