#1 Coaching Staff in the 13th Region would have to be the Cumberland Redskin Coach Staff, no better group of men out there.

If you look at the drawings and stuff, HCHS will have their own field not on a football field.

I wouldn't count on Gilliam playing at HCHS, he lives in Letcher County and it would be less travel time for him to travel to LCC.

Someone mentioned the serious record and back when the preview came out in HDE, it stated 29-30-1 Cumberland-Harlan-Tie. The shirts do not show this to be true, however, the shirts are missing the games in the 70s, which may have been played and then missing 1987. I can understand the gap in the 70s since it is more than 1 year, but what about 1987?

Almost right on the money the score was Middlesboro - 21 Cumberland - 7 Cumberland was without starting QB Zach Blanton. Nathaniel Gilliam suffered some sort of ankle injury during the 1st half. I don't believe it will be anything serious, though. He didn't play as a precaution, I believe. Cumberland was also without some other players. Any updates on Harlan/ Williamsburg and Bell Co/ Evarts? Can you believe they have Evarts playing Bell Co?

I believe the QB is referring to the fact that New Harlan has numerous amounts of players which is uncalled for and in my personal opinion should go back to being Cawood and West Harlan like it was back when I was in middle school.

I see this being a really good game to watch, however, I believe Harlan will come out on top. It's at Harlan, so that helps and having Jones at quarterback is a plus and the other experienced players returning. From what I hear, Cawood's quarterback has never played QB before. GO DRAGONS!!

Jennifer Hilton did play ball at Alice Lloyd and was a member of the 1,000 point club at Bell County and if I am not mistaken, she was close to the 2,000 point mark.

Congrats Batskins! This was a fun game to watch except for the fact late in the game, it was snowing so hard, I could barely see, not sure how the players could see. Good luck in the upcoming games Skins!

I would just like to say that I am really upset that John Henson did not pick Kyle Simpson for any of his region teams, when in fact, Kyle was voted 1st All Region Team by the Coaches in the 13th Region. Looks like someone still has a problem with Cumberland. I am surprised he picked Cumberland #2 in the Region for next year.

By the way in your post referring to the horn being blown to stop play, it was because the clock was counting up instead of down, would you have rather the game continued for a period of time and this not been corrected?

Thanks for your post. I still believe that some people are jealous of the turn-around Cumberland has made and do not want to give them an ounce of credit where it is due.

First of all, I would like to say that the clock keeper is not a student at Cumberland High School. He graduated from Cumberland High School in 2004. He has been keeping clock since he was in the 8th grade at Cumberland Middle School back in 1999. He has since kept clock for the All "A" Regional Championship held at Cumberland HS in 2005. He has kept High School clock for 4 years now. Also, not only was he asked to keep clock for the boys' tournament, he was asked by the staff of JACHS to keep it one night of the girls' tournament, so don't blame anything on the clockkeeper. No time should have been taken off the clock. The clockkeeper started the clock when the ball was thrown in. The clock at Cumberland counts by milseconds, it just not shown on the board. Both scorekeepers seen him turn on the clock. Also, he kept clock for the District and Regional Volleyball Tournament at CHS in 05 and the District Tournament held at JACHS in 2004. You are just mad because Cumberland came back on Bell County and could have beat them.

The same thing happened at the Boys' Semifinals at Cawood Thursday night with the Bell County's student section behind Middlesboro, however, they were not out of hand by any means. I am not taking up for the Cawood Student Section, but the bleachers are right behind the benches. The Cawood Student Section was out of control. Clapping in Coach Mitchell's ears and the same to the Assistant Coaches. Coach Middleton told the principal in the 3rd quarter and all he done was made them move up a bleacher and then they came back down after he was out of sight. It was a awful. The same thing happened with their student section when Cumberland played them in January. Their student section was making fun of the Cumberland Cheerleaders and all. It got so bad that Cumberland parents' had to complain to the Assistant Principal because the Principal was nowhere to be found. Something needs to be done to correct the situation at Cawood.
