  1. Why not try Polson at QB? He done a good job at Cumberland last year filling in for Blanton.
  2. Thanks for the information. Next question, where will district be held this year, will it still be split in half with one school having girls and one having boys or combined? Will it be Harlan's turn or Harlan County's? How do you determine which school comes first? *Sorry, I realize this has nothing to do with Corbin.
  3. Why would the region be at Bell? Last time the 52nd had the region it was at JACHS, so wouldn't that mean it would be Middlesboro's turn?
  4. Fire Jones and Hire Coach J. Edwards and then Derrick and Bull will come with him and M-boro would be set.
  5. 52nd District 1.) Harlan County Lady Bears 2.) Middlesboro Lady Jackets 3.) Harlan Lady Dragons 4.) Bell County Lady Cats
  6. PD Creech is also a good player on defense.
  7. https://wd.kyepsb.net/EPSB.WebApps/KECI/view_data.aspx?id=199603508 Ray Edward Whitaker Credentials RANK1 Rank I Cert Issued (30) B24 Teaching Major: History PSGF Provisional Certificate For Teaching In The Secondary Grades 9-12 (And For Departmentalized Grades 7-8 In Field) Principal SOE (35) KP2S Statement Of Eligibility For Provisional Certificate For Instructional Leadership-- Principal, All Grades, Level 2 History (97) PSGF Provisional Certificate For Teaching In The Secondary Grades 9-12 (And For Departmentalized Grades 7-8 In Field)
  8. I didn't mean to literally start 6 players, which I am guessing you know that. Tackett and Wilson started on that 21-0 team, with Natasha Pennington starting at times also, alternating in there. I am not sure if Pennington is thinking about playing again or not. Tackett and Wilson also started a few times this season, along with Tinsley. Is there speculation that Parker and Davenport maybe going to Harlan?
  9. Since not many people post on the girls forum, I am going to post here. Coach Nolan is getting 5 probable starters from Cumberland from a team that went 21-0 their 8th grade season, with these players meshing with the other schools, do you think they have a chance contending for the region? You are also getting PG W. Gilliam, giving you a possibly of 6 starters coming from Cumberland.
  10. What about Blake Polson, where do you see him playing?
  11. That was the only time I have ever disagreed with the coaching decisions at Cumberland for the most part.
  12. Elgie Green could do it. Give Elgie the boys' and Debbie the girls' and Middlesboro would own the All "A" on both sides in the 13th Region.
  13. May have won the District and 1st Round Regional Game if he would have been put in sooner.
  14. What about 2003, what are you thoughts then? Also, recent years with the talent Cumberland had combined with the other two schools?
  15. I think Tyrek will develop into a good Point Guard. With a little work, Blayne Rutherford will be a good 3-pointer shooter.
  16. Would you not consider Dillon Cain and TJ Green from JACHS veteran guards or Tyrek Simmons, PD Creech, and Kyle Hogue from C-land?
  17. I wonder if Harlan Co HS could be one of the teams. They will lots of talent next season.
  18. Could we see Elgie Green taking over as Head Coach at M-boro?
  19. Cumberland won 70-65. Starting for Cumberland was Desmond Johnson, Garfield Wilson, Brooks Hogue, Kyle Hogue, and Tyrek Simmons. Simmons stepped up and played a good game at point guard. Johnson and Wilson fouled out. Cumberland - B. Hogue - 11, K. Hogue - 8, Creech - 8, Wilson - 17, Johnson - 13, Simmons - 13. Knott Co - Stamper - 23, Z. Mullins - 10, J. Mullins - 7, Bartrum - 7, Caudill 11, Ratcliff - 5, Huff - 2 In the JV Game, Cumberland lost 7-20. Cumberland - Blayne Rutherford - 4, James Phillips - 1, and Eric Miller - 2.
  20. I am not so sure your conclusion on the 08-09 season would be correct if we were still open. The team that would be playing next year was almost undefeated in County Play when they were 8th graders losing only to Wallins. I believe they could compete with everyone on the schedule from this year next year. Adding to this the 98-99 season of Middle School play was Jerry Edwards last year coaching at CMS and his team when undefeated and their senior year they made it to Rupp.
  21. Cumberland played the entire bench and never really had their actual starting line-up in the game for more than 2 or 3 minutes. Wait until next Tuesday before you start making conclusions on Cumberland.
  22. If you are going to give anyone in the system already the job, just give it to Coach Edwards and Derrick Akal, look at the success they have had in turning Cumberland around. Also, as an assistant Akal has had a 13th Regional Championship and a 13th Region All "A" Championship.
  23. No need to start on a tread on this position, we all know who the job is going to and that is Mike Jones, who is the current principal at Cawood.
  24. Does that really have any bearing on them being successful coaches? Each one of the coaches give an equal part to the team. They are co-head coaches in a sense, which works better, in my opinion. They are great coaches, great personalities and so forth and I would say that even if I wasn't from C-land.
