I know first hand that there are several teams in NKY that throw the ball often, and with some success. Conner, Campbell County, and Simon Kenton all throw the ball quite well. Ryle throws the ball with some measure of success as well. All of these teams play Boone regularly. I agree that Boone needs to develop a QB and a good corps of receivers if they are ever going to be successful.

I think the obvious question yet to be answered, at least publicly, is how did the brawl last week involving the kids at Central impact eligibility for thiw game? If Central is at full staff, and I think they will be, then I believe they will advance. Honestly, I have not seen North Oldham play this year, so I don't know what they are like. I have seen Central play and they are big, and fast. If North can match up well, then it should be a good game.

A few names from Conner's past.... Tony Faher (sp) played in the 70's Rick Hicks played in the 70's Scott Thomas played in the early 80's.... as good a ball handler as there ever was. IMO.

I agree with you on that! Parton was very quick and to this day is one of only a handful of players that could draw a charge in the backcourt as a team was bringing the ball up the floor in transition. Great memories of him playing.

Any program's coaches that pay attention to the nonsense that is posted here, or any other media outlet, will not be around for long. Having said that, where there is smoke.... Coaches can't live in a world with their head in the sand neither. I would think that many reflections that are on this board and others like it are long before felt from the coaching staff of that program before any words posted here.

Highlands rolls big in this one... 49 - 6. Turf, grass, sandlot, or parking lot...doesn't matter much.

Just out of curiosity, who is #1 and #2 in Class A? I can hardly see HC as a top 3. Maybe top 5.

GC has had great success for only playing Varsity football going on only the 5th season, I believe. Certainly one of the main things they have to do, much like all the small schools, is get the numbers out there on the field. They will eventually get better as they get kids entrenched in the systems. But when you low numbers out for the team, it is difficult at times to even practice. Having said that, I feel confident that the program is heading in the right direction as is evident by the incoming 2010 freshman class. If my sources are correct they have about 20 kids in that class alone! In fact, when these new freshman (2010 class) are finally seniors, it will be the first group of kids to have come all the way up through pee-wee, middle school, and finally high school. So I have hope that the program at GC will only continue to get better as the numbers increase, and more importantly, the kids that are playing have had a chance to play ball for 5 years or more. Go Cats!:thumb:

Travis Davis from Gallatin County will be threat from behind the arc next year. Might be one of the better 3 pt shooters FG% in the region.

I do not know his name, but if the big kid from Emminence is one of two you named, then I agree! That kid will be a force down low as he grows. He also will benefit from having a good coach to teach him how to play strong in the low post. Huge upside for him!

Actually, having had time to think about it some... I do not believe that any referee comes to the game with the intent of being in the spotlight and some underlying motive for / against a team. If they do, they will not be around for long. Having said that, it is part of the game that when that whistle blows you are drawing every eye in the gym to your spot. You interrupted the flow of the game by blasting that whistle. So naturally, all eyes are upon you. It has been my experience that on any given call, approximately half the crowd will disagree with you. If you are brave enough to wear the striped shirts, black pants, whistle on lanyard... and look the part on the floor, you ought to be brave enough to take the criticisms that come with it.
