From my understanding... he wasn't getting playing time on the middle school team(or whatever last team that he played on before transferring) due to the depth they had. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that is why. He just was blocked by other talent.

Unless he's moved in the past few years, then yes I believe he does. He went through the CC school system up until high school I believe.

Sounds to me like the rule needs to be changed/abolished or better yet not been made in the first place. Silly rule.

I've seen it happen once this year and a couple times last year with no such rule enforced. (Actually think one of these games might have been against Harrison, or Montgomery I can't remember). If it's really a rule, then I don't like it. Sure I understand the safety issues but a kid can get hurt just standing in the box waiting on a pitch. If it's obviously a malicious attack then throw them out but if it's just a you are in my way and I'm trying to score kind of contact then let it be.

I, too, hope the catcher is ok and is able to play in their next game. I didn't catch him being injured the first time around.

I'm sorry, but that's baseball. If the kid doesn't like contact don't be a catcher. One kids trying to score and the other is trying to prevent it, nothing more. ON the other hand I would probably be disappointed if the kid just let the catcher tag him as opposed to trying to score. Nothing wrong with the play at hand, the fan seems to be the one out of line.

Did I hear right that the Royce kid who played at Dunbar a few years back and was currently playing for U of L got drafted in the 3rd round?

He's not really considered their number 1.
