As I predicted the writer Jonathan Fraysure has picked Mason Co as the #1 team. He has not been wrong the last 2 years, but I sure hope he is wrong this year...:D

Of course this is one persons' opinion. Now lets hear your team and player rankings.

Teams:

1. Mason Co

2.GRC

3. Scott

4. Montgomery Co

5. Pendleton Co

6. Bishop Brossart

7. Campbell Co

8. Deming

9. Harrison Co

10. Augusta

Players

1. Robbie Stenzel GRC

2.Treg Setty Mason Co

3.Vinny Zollo GRC

4. Kellen Smith Scott

5. Jorden Gilbert Mason Co

6. Omar Prewitt Montgomery Co

7. Kyle King Deming

8. Neal Pawsat Mason Co

9. Colton Fraysure Agusta

10. Luke King Deming

This is not what I expected, but this is a good place for GRC to start off with. Mason Co has the trophy and it will be up to GRC to win it this year.

I will be interested to see how the state rankings come out.

Feb 4th will be a good preview for the Regionals!

Thanks a ton Goldie. Does it have a blurb on each team? Anything on Campbell County?

Talks about new coach, 6-8 top players graduated, and mentions McGovney and Kennedy.

Hopefully things play out as predicted.

I think I would have found a spot for Corey Rodgers on the player list.:thumb:

Pappa I agree with you on that Cory Rogers should have been listed as well as Jaylan Daniels. I DISAGREE with you on how I hope they play out.... :D not as predicted.... more like the 2007 year. Also would have liked to seen Adam Fatkin and Bopper Stenzels names mention as contributors to the team this year along with Charlie Rogers

Also I was reading and in the 13th and 14th region previews, Author John Henson/Harlan Daily Enterprise polls the coaches and he lists them by the number of 1st place votes and total votes from the poll, not his opinion. Would be very interesting to see the results of a poll like this in the 10th region. Players too.

Looks like we have some questions here on BGP about the 9th Region preview as well.:D

Of course, I learned a long time ago that you can't please all of the people all of the time, and you're lucky to please some of the people some of the time.:thumb:

I see that the 13th, 14th and 9th regions have coaches polls for the up coming season. Does the 10th have a coaches poll? If so would love to see it and compare.

Overall, the rankings are pretty good. Mason and Clark are 1/1a. I think Scott is ranked a little too high. I would have Montgomery, Pendleton and Campbell ahead of them.

I agree as well that Rogers probably should be on that list. No offense, but I have never heard of Colton Fraysure from Agusta (Im sure he is a good player), but I think I would feel comfortable saying that Rogers could easily take that spot. You stick him on another team in the region where he is the #1 or #2 guy, I think he can be a 20ppg and 12rbs per game type of player.

Also good to see Prewitt up there in the top 10, very exicted to watch him play this year!

No surprise MC was picked #1 considering the writer.

I don't see how anyone can take them over GRC considering the Cards return virtually everything from last season.

I, too, would have had Jaylen Daniel and Corey Rogers in the top 10. Heck, Jaylen Daniel at times is the best player and athlete on that team.

It's October - I think I'm ready now:

After having to apologize to Mr. Fraysure last year I will take a more humble approach this year...

Clark Co has the most talent in my opinion, but we'll see how it all plays out.

I believe Harrison will surprise a lot of people this year. Their young kids are pretty good.

In my opinion Rogers should be on the top 10 player list.

In my opinion, Zollo should be #1 on the player list.

Some kids who aren't on the top 10 list who are very good:

Tyler Black - Mason Co, Jaylen Daniels - Clark Co, McGovney - Campbell Co., Mayson McGuire - Pendleton Co.

A lot seem to be doubting Scott this year but I really believe they can be better than they were a year ago. They are very talented but have a few weaknesses they will have to overcome and keep their players elgible. Coach Carr will also bring his A game so this team will apparently surprise some posters on this site that have them listed below a top 5 team. There two guards are as good as any back court in the region and their big kid can really create some matchup issues for other teams; not to mention a very solid young nucleus.

I'm also surprised Kellen Smith is not mentioned as some of the top players. I know there are some young kids coming up but they are not yet on Kellen's level and people keep mentioning them over Kellen. I would take him any day of the week and win a lot of games.

^ Kellen Smith is listed as #4 on the list. I think he's deserving of that spot.

Kellen was listed as a top 4 player in the region so I think he is getting a great deal of respect in a 10th region loaded with individual talent. Just getting mentioned with that group is pretty solid. The three players listed ahead of him are D1 caliber players.

I think that Scott gets a ton of respect from the 10th Region for what they have been able to do since entering the 10th but there is still a pretty good gap between Scott and then GRC and Mason Co. Pretty good gap between GRC, Mason Co and the rest of the 10th Region.
