Thanks for the clarification. I should have known that since the Highlands DB's have been instructed to not look for the ball in the past. Not sure how the new rule will affect them, but it seems it may be helpful to their style of defending.

Can someone clarify what is considered "face guarding" a receiver? Can a defender now throw his hands up to block the view of the receiver as the pass is incoming? No more requirement to "look for the ball'?

I defer to my Asian side and have a bowl of steamed white rice and a can of tuna doused liberally with Kikoman soy sauce. It's actually really good and I still use it as a fall back when no one feels like cooking.

How about Dave Krause? He is a very good coach and has strong community ties. I know the players like him.

Nice game for the Birds. The final 2 minutes left me scratching my head, though. Up by 8 and the Birds commit several unnecessary fouls, sending Newport to the line, and on the other end, putting up quick shots from awkward angles, taking on multiple defenders with the dribble, allowing Newport to hang around much too long. Sisson looked very confident and poised. He is going to be a good one. Finney is a beast!

How one sided does this result make the bracketing look? Ridiculous to have nearly all the top teams on one side of a bracket. A 4-0 championship is the result.

Did I imply that you should not go? By all means, have fun, cheer them on. I agree that the kids deserve the support. My post simply stated that the sparse fan presence in the stands, was not indicative of the number of Doss fans in attendance.

Doss had many more fans in attendance than what could be seen sitting in the stands. Many of the fans were ringing the fence, watching from there. They had decent fan support and the stands would have been more full if these fans had chosen to sit. Not every football community is Ft. Thomas/Highlands. It is unfortunate that the KHSAA requires an extra couple of bucks for tickets for the playoff games. That is a limiting factor for some. Does one choose to spend $25 for the family to attend a football game or for something the family needs?

Why don't HHS coaches let d backs look for the ball? A floater pass that should have been a pick turns into a 30 yard completion on 3rd and 10.

I just looked at Google earth and it appears that they have a grass field. I hope it is well maintained and does not look like the snapshot on GE.

Yes, happened at the Frosh level this season. Highlands beat them twice via the shutout. I think the combined scores were 40+ to zero. Neither game was close.

I believe it went to 8 PK's per side. Through The first 5 it was 2-2. NDA is cursed in tournament games that go to PK's. 2009 lost in the champiinship final, 2012 lost in the championship final and now in the Sweet 16.

Very likely not the only possibly missed call or non call of the match. How many times did the NDA coach have to point out rough play?
