I believe it went to 8 PK's per side. Through The first 5 it was 2-2. NDA is cursed in tournament games that go to PK's. 2009 lost in the champiinship final, 2012 lost in the championship final and now in the Sweet 16.

Congrats to WJ. Having to beat Boyle Co. then come back and go on the road to beat an excellent NDA team. They look to be peaking at the right time. Goes from the frying pan into the fire with the next game against the #1 team in the state in Sacred Heart. Brutal path to get to the final four, while other teams don't have to beat a top 50 team in the state to get the final four.

WYD is correct, it went to the 8th kick.

 

In the first 5... WJ missed 2 shots and had one saved by the ND keeper. ND put all 5 of their shots on frame, WJ keeper made 3 saves.

 

In the sudden death portion of PK's... WJ made their first 3 attempts, ND had their 3rd shot saved by the keeper.

The WJ keeper really won this game for her team, not only in PK's but with a couple of really nice saves in regulation.

 

NDA scores in the second half about halfway through and then completely loses focus and gives up the equalizer less than a minute later. WJ has a few nice players but NDA should have won this game IMO. Their injuries have really limited them on offense as they didn't seem to have much speed up top. Tierney should have had the ball more and should have moved to the center of the field to get more touches. Clearly NDA's most dangerous player, she was stuck at outside mid the whole night with limited touches.

Did they have a handshake line after the game?

Great goal tending for sure. Anna Rexford is going to be a good one and only a freshman. West has a little more than a few nice players though. Two UK commits and a few other future D-1 talents. Has put a lot of players into D-1 int the past and one on the national team. West controlled the second half of that game all the way around and not just in goal.

 

Agree on Tierney. She's a good one and the goal keeper is too.

Going into the match, I had heard a lot about Mitchell and her abilities, in last nights match I was more impressed with the play of Anna Lee. Not saying both aren't really good players, I just thought that Lee was the better of the two last night.
