Between Elliott, Hazard, Corbin and Shelby Valley....the mountains need to unite and make Rupp Roar like they did in the big Clay County years. All the mountains fans need to support which, if any of these teams advance. It would be nice to see the big Trophy come home to the Hills.

Congrats to Coach Whitaker. Bell made a mistake by letting him go. Glad to see him get to make the trip twice with his son.

Bubba had to keep getting Sweetness to pinch me on the cheek to make sure he wasn't dreaming at this margin. Alas, it wasn't just her sweet face I was seeing, the scoreboard was right. I second the Fossil on the comments about the opposing coaches. South Laurel did a whole lot with their team this year and they improved greatly from early this year. No doubt the addition of North and South to the region has made everyone raise their level of play, which is good for all fans. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Coach P on his second regional championship to add to his ALL A regional winner and two regional runners-up. Pretty good resume for a young coach. Corbin may have to renegotiate his contract.

If the Hounds win the meal is on me Les. I can shake some cob webs off my wallet and buy you a meal.

Four corners stuff worked pretty well for the Hounds last night Hank. Hounds will be ready to play, so just relax and have a few beverages with your friends in the alley and enjoy the game.

All I can say is North played well and people saw what they saw. Anyone who was there can attest. I sure hope tomorrow is a better night for everyone involved. Most importantly the players of the two teams playing for a regional championship. Good luck Hounds.

Very Classy post Odessa. Hounds fans appreciate the comments. Coaches can only do so much and Coach Jones is one of the best in the business. I am sure the Black Bears will be going deeper in the region very soon.

May stop there on Tuesday as well if the need arises....lol More time since there is only one game left in the 13th this season. I always like to watch the final game of the region.

Oh my, Fried Bolgna is one of my favorites, I am also partial to a little pickled bologna and some saltine crackers. Throw in Grippo's and a Moon Pie for dessert and you have a great meal. I agree, I would expect the Cards to be in the finals, but it could be their neighbor the Jags they are playing on Tuesday. North is a very solid team and Coach Conway has them playing some great defense as well. The addition of Coach Parrott is finally paying off for North. He knows what it takes to win in the post season and his experience was a big advantage in the win over KC.

Now Les, do not get too carried away with the underdog predictions....lol Middlesboro has not seen the different collection of defenses the Cards will throw at them. Most games, the Cards change so much they have the other team scratching their heads. Corbin will have their hands full with the Jags as well. The Jags will not lay down and play dead. Should be an exciting semi final round on Log Mountain. What kind of grade would you give the Hospitality room Les? Not sure any place can top Williamsburg, spicey meatballs, Chicken and dumplins, home made desserts and even a cheese ball or two. They would be my top host.

Cheek played huge for the Jags last night. Was Creech injured for the Jags? I noticed he did not get in the game last night.

Wow, Corbin shot only 2 free throws for the entire game comared to 25 from the Black Bears. Hounds will need to find a way to get to the line more against North Laurel if they hope to advance.

No problem, sounds like Walton is commited to finding a good leader for the basketball program. No one can blame them for asking Coach Wright if he would be interested. Simply out of respect for him as a Coach and person. I am sure they halfway knew he would not be interested, but you have to ask and see for sure. Best of luck to the BearCats

I was asking if they could put together a package that would attract a big name like Steve Wright. I do not think Coach Wright would be interested, but I was wondering if the support/resources were in place to attract similar applicants.

Is this the kind of talent to compete for a regional title? What age level are the players with the talent? Could they put an offer on the table to attract a big name coach like Coach Wright?

Sounds like a lot of excitement over this vacancy. What are the pro's and con's of the basketball coaching position at Waltona Verona?

That is what I was thinking. I only recognized two of the officals from the previous regional tournaments, At Clay in 2006, Corbin 2007. I would suspect a new cast for the games tonight. I bet Mike Walker will be calling one of the two contests tonight. He is clearly one of the best in the Mountains.
