Corbin 65 Harlan County 41

Final.

Tough game with the Harlan Co! Hounds finally started hitting! One game at a time!

If you over look anyone you may be watching from home!

Harlan played their guts out and kept it close early. Several key Corbin players were in early foul trouble (including Isaac Wilson and Aaron Manns) in the first half. But the 2nd half, Corbin really turned it up a notch. They will be a tough team to beat and showed in the 2nd half why they are the favorites to go to Rupp from the 13th. I thought Josh Smith kept Corbin in it in the 1st half, but a total team effort in the 2nd half to put this one away.

I thought Jones had a good game plan and the Harlan Co. kids gave max effort. Harlan Co. missed a boat load of easy shots in the first half. In the end the Corbin depth and talent took control of this game. This was a better game than I thought it would be. Congrats and Good Luck to Corbin and good effort by the Harlan Co. players.

Corbin could be a sweet 16 sleeper if they get out of their region. I have only seen them play 2 times, but have been impressed.

If they get to Rupp, I could see them playing on Saturday. When they play team ball, they are a tough out for anyone. They didn't start playing that way last night, but sure did in the 2nd half. They have so many weapons that you can't focus on just one player.

I felt like this would be somewhat of a good game because Coach Jones would have a good game plan. Corbin should be able to roll the rest of the way to many weapons.

By the way how can you be at home and still be watching, games are not on TV. :idunno: No really I know what you mean, just kidding.

Have any of the Corbin players played in Rupp?? If not, that could be a huge factor IF they get to Rupp.

Josh Crawford played there as an 8th grader in 2005 and played pretty well I might add.

:thumb:Nice win Corbin

Some stats from the game:

Corbin

FG Pct. - 57% (28-49)

FT Pct. - 100% (2-2)

TO's - 11

Harlan Co.

FG Pct. - 31% (11-35)

FT Pct. - 72% (18-25)

TO's - 14

Wow, Corbin shot only 2 free throws for the entire game comared to 25 from the Black Bears. Hounds will need to find a way to get to the line more against North Laurel if they hope to advance.

If North plays as aggressive as they did Thursday, the Hounds will get to the line. North had Seidel & Wardup with 4 fouls each at the end of the game. Corbin just may have too many weapons for NL to defend them all.
