Final in the 13th region tourney. Not as big of an upset as most would expect but huge surprise to most.

Yep Hank, no doubt a suprise! Sounded like North played with a lot of grit.

Who do they play next?

Way to go Jags! Last game of the season Jags had a 13 point loss to Knox Cental. I would think most people would think it was a big upset. Way to go Coach Conway!

I expected Knox to win, but I'm not completely surprised. North played Clay a great game in the district finals, and Knox hasn't improved a lot throughout the season.

 

I will say that I think Knox underachieved this season.

Knox was only one of two region teams to beat Corbin.

 

North played its best game of the season. Seidel was a stud with 24 points, while hitting key shots. Adrian Wardrup didn't start, but still scored 21 points and Chris Cheek, Raymond Shears and Derek Couch also played great.

North trailed 30-28 at halftime, but outscored Knox 30-27 in the fourth quarter.

 

Congrats goes out to coach Conway and the Jags. They deserved this.

 

Cody Miller scored 32 points and had 11 rebounds in the loss.

Not surprised, but didn't expect it. Congrats Jags!

I picked this one, and was awfully close to the score. I just felt like Seidel and Couch want to end their senior seasons on a bang. Wardrup was amazing in the 4th quarter. Shears, Cheek, Couch, and the rest of the Jags played a great game. Cody Miller is a stud ball player! He was remarkable.

 

I will also say that the officiating which was bad on Wednesday night, didn't get any better tonight.

 

That being said, I think this will be a very close game. I look for Seidel and Miller to play big. The difference will be their supporting casts. North needs a big game from Couch and Shears for North to pull it off. I will have to be a Laurel County homer and pick North in the upset. If they play the way they did for most of the game against Henry Clay and Marshall County in the hoopfest, I think they pull it off. But I agree, it would be an upset.

Corbin will be ready for this one. I saw a couple of their assistants taking some notes a couple of rolls behind North's bench tonight. Should be a good one Monday.

I think North plays more Corbin's style, the Hounds will win big. I would also say the Knox fans are a little upset. I think they was one of the teams that had a shot @ Corbin. Congrats to North Laurel.

Great ballgame. North showed alot of determination in this one. Will have to play wel above their heads on Monday to pull off the upset of the tourney.

Corbin will be ready. Like Dave and Dave said last night, they saw a much different NL team than they saw when they played them earlier. Should be a fun game to watch. North had a much more balanced attack with 4 players in double figures (Seidel, Wardrup. Shears & Cheek I believe were all in double figures). The Jaguars actually attacked the basket against KC which they didn't do in the first Corbin game or the first Knox Central game.

Wardrup was the difference nobody for KC was willing to step in front of him on his drives to the basket and he and Siedel knocked down their FREE THROWS. NL simply played HARDER than KC did. Bad loss for KC and great win for the Jags. Congrats to Coach Conway and NL.

I agree 100%. Wardup was the difference. Everyone knew what Seidel could do, and he did. But Wardup was the something extra that NL needed. Not only did he drive and get some key rebounds, but hit his FTs at a high rate down the stretch.

 

I know it was early, but I thought that the first offensive possession for KC when 5'7" Dustin Baker elevated from behind and blocked Miller's shot in the lane, it set the tone for the effort that the Jags were going to give.
