Madison Central/Madison Southern Predicitons
Southern wins this one by 15. Central is really down this year and Southern is a very good team.

Free Throws how much of it is coaching?
I believe most high school coaches make their players practice free throws. The problem is many high school kids focus more on style than repetition, limiting excess movement, and concentration. When I say "style", I'm talking about; spinning the ball in their hands, bouncing the ball in front of them and spinning it back to them, odd little quirks that they think makes them look cool etc. Shooting freethrows is all about repetition, concentration and limiting the things that make a player shoot inconsistent. If the coaches would teach the kids not to worry about style, the freethrow percentages would most likely go up. JMO

Big upset. This really makes the trip to the Sweet 16 easier for Iriquois. I don't see anyone in the 6th that is left beating them.

Newport Central Catholic 68 Highlands 48
Hate to see Highland's season end on this note. With the eight seniors coming back this year, the Birds expectations were high. Injuries kept this team behind the "eight ball" all season. They just couldn't get it going. Kowoloneck struggled this year with his knees and I know this hampered his performance all season. Hope the time off allows his knees to heal so he can perform at the next level. He is a real competitor. Good luck to all the young men.

Tough district! Play one game in the district tournament and beat a team by 55 and win the district championship? Par for the course.

Trinity 73 Seneca 60
Good win for Trinity. Seneca is a very good team. Heard that the coach for Johns Hopkins University was there to watch Trinity's point guard Daniel Corbett and was very impressed with his game/performance. Impressed enough to offer a spot on the team. Congratulations to Mr. Corbett.:ylsuper:

Highlands/ Newport Central Catholic Predictions
NCC takes this one by 3. Highlands just isn't performing to everyone's expectations. I thought with the seniors they have and returning the entire team from last year that they would be a stronger force in the ninth. I realize that Grote has not played much this year and Grubbs only played the first half of the season, but, they still have six other seniors plus a few strong underclassmen that should be able to "weather the storm". There was also a lot of "high hopes" of the new coach coming in this year. I think is has been harder for the team to learn a new system and this could be a contributor to an underperforming season. However, I wish them luck and hope they can get it together and make a strong post season run. I also believe the ninth is wide open this year. I honestly think the following teams have a legit shot at going to Rupp this year... Holmes Boone Co. Ryle Newport NCC Highlands Who's going to step up?:thumb:

Wow! There was no possible way he fouled anyone! 44 free throws to 10 is unbelieveable too. There is no way this game could have been called fair unless Warren Central was just tackling the other team.

Franklin County/ George Rogers Clark predictions
No one has still answered the question. Why did Franklin Co. tell Scott Co. the day after the canceled game that they would not make up the game that was scheduled the night before?
-
Franklin County/ George Rogers Clark predictions
So why didn't they reschedule the game? That game was supposed to have been played January 26th. There were plenty days this game could have been made up after Jan. 26th. I know that Scott Co. wanted to play this game, mainly because of the money the gate would bring to the program. I'm sure the replacement game against the West Virgina team didn't bring many fans with them.

Franklin County/ George Rogers Clark predictions
I didn't say that FC folks dodge other teams in order to better their win loss record, you said that. Scott Co had to get a team from West Virginia to come in and make up the Franklin Co. game. From what I was told Scott Co was really dissapointed becuse this would have been a big gate game, with the rivalry between the two and Franklin Co only being about 15 miles away. Franklin Co. told Scott Co. the day after the game was scheduled that they were not interested in making up the game and that they was not going to make up the game.
