Big win for SV---impressive.

Big road win for the Wildcats.:thumb:

They should have smooth sailing through the 15th Region tournament on their way back to Rupp. And they have a good draw too.

Shelby Valley 25 14 12 21 72

Jeffersontown 8 16 16 17 57

Shelby Valley (24-4) -- Justice 31, Hatfield 4, Ta. Newsome 14, Ty. Newsome 21, Varney 2.

Jeffersontown (19-7) -- T. Jackson 19, B. Jackson 2, Dorsey 8, Hagan 2, Kennedy 8, Smith 10, Ross 8.

Looks like the first quarter was where the game was won.

I believe I called this one. :D

I had a feeling this would end up like the Elliott Co/Ballard game last year.

The margin of victory is somewhat surprising though.

Difference being Ballard traveled to Elliott Co. SV made the long trip to Loiusville for this one. Congrats on the big win SV!

Does anyone have an opinion as to what is causing J-town's tailspin? Is it a team chemistry thing, tough opposition, or what?

The main issue at Jtown starts with the coach. This Jtown team lacks toughness and plays with no fight or emotion. Coach Morrow's bully and threat tactics do not seem to motivate this team. He yells, screams and uses all the four letter words and they seem to just shut down on him. Some kids respond to this brand of coaching and some just lay down. Morrow may need to temper his language and his emotions to get this group of kids to play with more emotion..

Rule #4

I think not having Tim Jackson is also effecting this team as well. You don't lose a 6'5 all state forward and continue with the same success that you started with.

J'town also lost Sam Tolliver from last year's team as well. He's at Iroquois now.

Huge win for the Valley coming off the loss to Perry Central. Heading into the post-season with some momentum.

Don't think any changes are iminent.

I'm not saying there aren't side issues - I haven't seen Jtown this year - but they haven't exactly been losing to patsies. This may be nothing more than the results of a brutal schedule...

Maybe we should be giving more kudos to SV and taking fewer shots at Jtown.

Sometimes people look too hard to find the "reason" for an apparent downturn. Granted, Jtown needs to find ways to win these tough ones if they are to go deep in the tournament, and losing games late in the season is never good news for any team...but I think writing off the Chargers just might be a little premature...

No matter how you look at it, this is NOT your typical vintage Jtown team. They don't have much height as they did in past years (Thomas Coleman) and they don't have the one or two players like Tilford and company. They are down and the loss of 6-5 Tim Jackson hurt.

Yes, it might be a great all-time top win for South Oldham, but these aren't exactly glory days for Jtown. I do expect the them to play strong in the regionals and don't expect them to lay down, that's for certain.
