  1. HHS is always trying to improve their program and take it to another level. I just don't see playing a NKY team as taking it to another level. I think most will agree with this statement. No dig on NCC or SK but they are just not on HHS level and as much as I want to agree with those suggesting that HHS plays an OH opponent of the same size I disagree with that. If HHS is going to cross the river they are crossing it to play the best Cinti has imo.
  2. Exactly TVC. Highlands is looking for a ESPN replacement game. Some on here are getting cofused when mentioning opponents. Would like to see another Highlands vs Moeller or Cinti St X matchup. They have proven to be some very good games worthy of National audience.
  3. All of this Makes PHM look like small potatoes. OMG This had to have been a very large part of the reason the list of applicants were small. I feel very sorry for a whole lot of kids that will suffer from parental involvement and will be the victims of Daddyball.
  4. Wow. Now I know why people in Union are upset about their boy Woolf not getting the job. Iam sure the new coach is legit and can coach but Iam sorry to say I have never heard of him and for a school the size of Ryle with the resources they have I would have thought at least LC Head Coach Letton or somebody of the same caliber. Congrats Coach and good luck to the Raiders.
  5. We probably won't get a name tonight now after those shots. Our messenger might be delivering some mail somewhere else at the moment
  6. Iam very confused Can't the people in Ft Thomas get their facts straight
  7. I heard the same thing yesterday about Mr Dowling turning down the Frosh position. For the Frosh level at Highlands the youngest Abner kid would be a great choice. He has quite a bit of coaching experience and has been taught well
  8. I also was thrilled to see my good friend Mr Richard Skinner at the Highlands press release yesterday. I said hello to him but he must not have heard me or recognized my voice.
  9. I believe you are correct Jack. I actually overhead a couple of guys talking at the Buttermilk Skyline Chili and made the mistake of telling TBirds before actually confirming whether JF attended. Sorry TBird I will have to stick to info from the paint store only from now on. Lots of Laughs
  10. Congrats to BC on their Region Championship. Sounds like the two best teams battled this one out to the end. Good Luck to BC at State.
  11. Note the lack of support in the stands for both teams, maybe either the secret got out that Highlands was going to play stall ball or maybe the fans didnt want to waste their money to see another blowout. As much as most on here have said its boring, in hindsight I can almost guarantee you that if ppl knew this is how this one was going to play out and get this much attention then they would have paid $10 bucks to see this. One word has sort of summed up the theme of this game, INTRIGUING.
  12. Yep, WLW all over this debate and Lance McAlister sides with Coach R and the Birds for playing within the rules of the game and using the game plan and strategy to give them any chance to beat the Pandas. Lance also later laughed at the fact that someone had brought up that the "spirit of the game had been damaged", he called it "silly". There were many callers on coversation and coming from a bunch of "no dog in this fight" they all sided with Highlands except some guy that sounded like UKfan. LOL.
  13. I was told today by someone that was at the banquet that CovCaths Coach Wirth presented PT with this prestigious award. Apparently, Wirth mispronounced the last name, called him Towels. I have a hard time believing this happened because Towels owned Wirths Colonels on his own. I can guarantee you that Wirth knows how to spell his name and pronouce his name. Maybe he had one of those teleprompters in his ear and that person mispronoucned his name. LOL
  14. Why not? Hey they still got one coming up, Benny "the Jet" Towles is a heck of a receiver and probably is going to be about 6'-8. I think hes 6-2 now and hes only an 8th grader. BTW, congrats PT, very well deserved.
  15. I am just so puzzled by why you continue to complain that families and fans got cheated and why they even play into this equation. It really has no factor in competitive sports imo. Pls dont take offense here, but I just dont get this analogy. Sorry..........
  16. I know Coach R well, and I can assure you there will not be a single thought of "did I do the right thing" or, "did I hurt somebodys feelings". She did the right thing imo. Now while she sits on the sideline watching I'll bet she is wondering if her team can even compete next yr. We shall see:sssh:
  17. I know this is hard for you to grasp and I understand that, but Coach R did everything in the book to get this team to respond after losing their leader and nobody and I mean nobody stepped up to the plate to take the reins.
  18. Well, people have just come to the assumption and realization that the final game of a season is for those Srs who dont play much or at all have the chance to get in the game when the game is out of hand. Thats their reward I guess. Wow, some reward. Its almost like entitlement, well the last time I checked this is HS sports and at HHS each and every girl is told what their role is and whether they will ever play a minute or not, if they accept the role great, heres your uni. If anyone says this is not crystal clear between all players and Coach Richey then you are just reaching.
  19. Looks like a Bellevue fan is not a happy kitten today. LOL
  20. Your posts are beginning to scream "I hate Coach Richey and Highlands". LOL
  21. Dead on. Very rare incident and being blown out of proportin because of the rivalry between these two schools and cities.
  22. Few answers and a few comments. This game was not nor will it ever be a "feel good" "hoorah" we finally made it to the Regional tourney and "we get to play in the big venue" atmosphere mentality for Highlands. Highlands is Highlands and is an established program, so for the politically correct that thinks everyone should get a participation award for all their hard work during the season, well I say, when you accepted your role on the team and put on the uniform that is your reward, not how many playing mins or pts scored but representing your school and playing as a team and yes, having alot of fun doin it. And yes, ND is that good and yes, they could have pressed, trapped and caused turnovers and scored pts off their defense forcing Highlans out of the stall, but guess what, they didnt. You talk about the disparity, well this game had alot of it. Highlands fell off the map early in the season when they lost their point guard and floor leader and never really close to being the same team. You could probably ask any coach in the Region what the lost of AA meant to Highlands and they will confirm the tale of two seasons. Yes, they had the same supporting cast in place but never could find their identity after losing AA which caused lots of issues. The good news is Highlands loses 1 starting Sr and 2 other Srs. and will return a nice team and hopefully will be able to compete next yr.
