KHSAA News Release: Unsporting Acts by Sayre High School

Featured Replies

“The KHSAA has received information relative to alleged unsporting acts and comments made by representatives of the girls’ basketball team at Sayre High School following its game with Leslie County High School on Wednesday. As a sanctioned game under the limitation of seasons of the KHSAA, this potential violation of KHSAA Bylaw 15 would involve the Association. However, after our initial review and conversation with representatives of Sayre, we are confident that the administration of both schools and school systems are aggressively reviewing the incident and until we have final reports of their actions, will allow the process to continue at the local school level.”

Anyone have any insight?

Heard bits and pieces. These two played each other in a girls game. Apparently it was a rough game. Afterwards a lot of trash talking online and one girl may have been singled out by Sayre students. Not sure if those students were players or not but I heard it was ugly.

Someone from Sayre made a spread sheet of the Leslie girls roster and found ways to get under their skin. Also heard the game itself got kinda heated.

The spread sheet pretty much gave the full varsity roster of the Leslie girls team, beside the players names, if they had boyfriends, they put something mean down beside it and for the others they said probably ate everything in site and so on. Yeah it's pretty bad.

I think it was a student that done this.

I'm checking with G to make sure we can show the spreadsheet.

I'm not sure anything good can come from this. Don't post it. It's something the kid probably already regrets. She's probably finding out the internet is a cruel thing as the attacker and now the attacked. Just kids, sticks and stones. We all get the picture some bad things were said. Let it go.

What else happened?

What else happened?

Franklin County Circuit Court overturned the KHSAA eligibility ruling (or ineligibility) of two Cordia (boys) players.

I think this case is one that the KHSAA may want to reconsider. Are they really going to police social media?

Julian is having a bad year. Handshake ruling makes national headlines, cross country runner refusing to wear number for religous purpose makes national headlines, and now all that has occured today.:ohbrother:

I honestly don't know why the KHSAA doesn't just throw open the floodgates on transfers. I can't recall a single time a court didn't overturn it. That's not a commentary on whether I agree or disagree with those transfers, but a reality of the end result of every KHSAA decision that limits them.

Throw open the transfer rules and you would get chaos. Super teams are not fun to watch, to play against or to play for. May as well pay the kids to transfer while you are at it.
