Are things better with Turner running the show and taking the coaching out of the hands of coaches and putting it in his best interest and the interest of the Turner Angles

We don't need a high school Jerry Jones Or Al Davis. I'll move my kids out of the district if I even smell any politics on the field. I've coached and played so I'm not oblivious to knowing who can play and not.

Matt does not tell coaches how to run their programs and I've observed him to be very hands off as to how coaches run their teams across all sports. This is a bunch of nonsense about Turner's Angels IMHWO. Maybe 5-17 over the past 2 years, a dozen embarrassing blowout losses where the games were not interesting, many other issues not created by administration and lack of interest in the football program is a good reason to change direction? Maybe coaching had something to do with the product on the field?

For those of us that aren't part of the TCM, spell out what your complaints are and why you say this.

IMO , all one needs to do is look at what has happened at Ryle in the last year within the athletic

department to know that there is a problem at Ryle when it comes to leadership. Turner

has lost the following Head Coaches this past year: 1. Head Football Coach, 2. Head Boys

Basketball Coach, 3. Head Girls Basketball Coach, 4. Head Softball Coach, 5. Head Girls Soccer

Coach, 6. 2 Head Dance Coaches. In addition, several assistant coaches were let go or left on their

own. It is common knowledge that most of these coaches were let go or left because of

parental complaints and a lack of support from Turner. From what I hear in ONE year 7 HEAD coaches and over 12 total coaches are gone. These coaches were all a part of making Ryle a very successful athletic program over the last 6-7 years. In addition, many student-athletes from these programs received scholarships and are still playing today at all levels of collegiate sports.

At Ryle, from what I hear it is a common belief among not only the coaches but many teachers that he is controlled by the parents and they know when push comes to shove he will throw them under the bus. You can also look at the teacher turnover rate since he has been principal and there has been many teachers leave.

The way he handled the hiring of the football coach is typical for him. Passing out surveys to players/parents asking them what kind of coach they would like to have is a process he has

used before. At Ryle, coaches are evaluated by players and parents at the end of the season

by surveys. Having parents on a selection committee i believe speaks volumes as to how

much influence the parents have on this man. Coaches at Ryle will always be controlled by

the parents while he is in charge so it will take a special type of coach to survive there.

The fact that he showed Mike Woolf no loyalty who has been on his football staff for over

10 years and has one of the reputations as a great football coach should not surprise anyone.

His track record of loyalty and support for his coaches speaks volumes. Hard to argue with

that many coaches gone in less than a year . In programs ran by parents all suffer for the

selfish wants of a few that have the principals ear. All schools have complaining parents

always have, always will. At Ryle the principal allows them to complain and when he has

had enough of it about a coach he takes the easy way out and gets rid of the coach. I really

believe it is only going to get worse at this school because of what has happened the last year. Parents/players realize all they need to do is get a group together raise enough heck about a coach and he/she is gone.

Not to mention that the baseball coach is safe because he has an assistant named Jim that also happens to be the AD. Sad process and state of affairs at Ryle.

Are you serious? Were you not on Warner's staff during some of those loses?

Like talking numbers huh? How about Ryle losing over 12 coaches in one year. Guess all of those coaches had losing records and issues not created by the administration? All of them in one year? All of these bad people and coaches that Turner hired! Again not a very good reflection of his leadership capabilities if he misjudged that many people when hiring them.

All of this

Makes PHM look like small potatoes. OMG

This had to have been a very large part of the reason the list of applicants were small.

I feel very sorry for a whole lot of kids that will suffer from parental involvement and will be the victims of Daddyball.

Daddy ball sucks. It's an infection that needs to eradicated.

I think Ryle made the right move in replacing Bryson, Alan, and Patty. All had some success but it was time for a much needed change.

I liked Bryson. As an individual he stood for the right things. Sort of like Tampa Bay, Dungie took the team as far as he could, It took Gruden to get them that last push over the hump. Change is sad and hard, but like life and death it's inevitable.

First, I 100% believe coach Woolf should have gotten the job. And it make me sad and angry he didn't get it. With that being said I know Matt Turner. And right or wrong he does not make a decision that he does not think out and believe it is what is best for Ryle and their students. I know it must have been one of the hardest things he has ever done to look coach Woolf in the eye and tell him he didn't get the job. He knows how much coach Woolf loves Ryle, their students and football. I hope and pray coach Woolf stays at Ryle. I know how much the students and players love him. But I would understand if he does not stay. But if you really know Matt Turner, you would know he made this choice because he in his heart he believes it was the right one.

The decision for Coach Woolfe to stay or not would seem to totally be Coach Engels to make wouldn't it? Would Turner force him to hire Woolfe?

Controversy is not a popular word at Ryle. It is easier to trim the fat.
