  1. Who is Baby Huey? Watch interviews of the Head Coach. Reminds me of Baby Huey.
  2. Stats: Highlands: Rushing 87; Passing 298; Total 385 Elder: Rushing 85; Passing 178; Total 257 Understand that Baby Huey (Elder) complained about the Highlands players celebration after the game.
  3. I just witnessed one of the worst officiated football games I have seen in over thirty years of watching high school football. The Elder fans near me apologized for the officials. This is not the caliber of officiating expected in the GCL. Every marking of the football for play was an adventure in fantasy plan. One offensive lineman realized he wasn’t being called for holding of the Highlands’ defensive players so he just started tackling them. The Umpire and Referee were clueless. A number of times the Elder team was in hurry-up offense and you thought a player was in motion. No he was running to the bench and another player ran on to the field. After a while you just realized how farcical the officiating was and just kept laughing at them. It became a microcosm of the way American life has become in the hands of bureaucrats.
  4. WLWT reports: http://www.wlwt.com/high-school-playbook/29440357/detail.html "Moeller will have an opportunity to stake its claim on a national title if the team is able to beat Trinity of Louisville at the end of the season." What do you think?
  5. Just for your information: The GCL (Greater Catholic League) for football: http://www.gclsports.com/confStandings.aspx?satc=90
  6. Now that I have time to get the adrenalin surge down, I have to agree with you.
  7. Now that Trinity (KY) is playing Elder at the “Pit,” I decided to research the GCL. When I played there were four teams in football: Elder, Purcell, Roger Bacon and St. Xavier. The GCL (Greater Cincinnati League) is now known as the Greater Catholic League. There are three divisions: North – Alter, Fenwick, Carroll and Chaminade Julienne; Central – Badin, McNicholas, Purcell Marian and Roger Bacon; and South – Elder, LaSalle, Moeller and St. Xavier. There were only mythical champions in Ohio the most prominent year after year - Washington High School Tigers (Massillon, OH City School) located on Paul Brown Drive. What does this mean? Nothing, just an old man walking down memory lane. Warning! Panthers are nocturnal predators.

  9. Trinity's opponent on 9/23 is playing today at 4 on ESPNU.
  10. The coaches have developed their plan. They have tutored their charges. The players have practiced the plan. Tonight the teams will execute the plan. And tomorrow the fans will evaluate the results of the plan. Of course the fans have the advantage of 20/20 hindsight.
  11. Are “team players” the unsung and unheralded players on a high school football team? While they don’t make “good press” for a reporter’s career, they are the foundation of the team. What do you think?
  12. Since coaching is teaching, it will be interesting to see if he can teach. Be that as it may: Congratulations to Jared!!!
  13. CONGRATULATIONS AUSTIN!!! :thumb: I am sure Grandpa B loves this Christmas gift.
  14. In her statement she said that a change will take place 7/9/2010. No statement on the change. She was introduced by a Julian Tackett. Don't know who he is but he didn't impress me. Evidently a press packet released at the announcement contained more information.
  15. Ryan Ernst reports. Press conference today at 3 pm. Brigid DeVries to retire? http://cincinnati.com/blogs/preps/2009/12/15/shake-up-at-the-khsaa/ Interesting.
  16. Congratulations Birds After reading some of the posts, I can understand how "The Flat Earth Society" still exists.
  17. My prayers are with him, his family and his NCC family. Godspeed.
