You can make alot of arguments for many deserving players. I would be interested in what players in the area went on to to play college ball and at what schools.

Why does everything always seem to be in disarray at Greenup? Is it really like this there or do some make seem like it?

This game will not be close. Harrison is in another league than GC. Greenup did a good job of turning their season around and winning the district, but it was one of the weakest in district's in the state. Not taking anything away from GC, because they did a great job in righting the ship. HC will just be to much. Good luck to both teams!

The Rams getting beat by West had nothing to do with the Russell game. It had all to do with of fundmentals and a better prepared West team. West played harder and wanted it more than the Rams. The Rams did not tackle or play assignment football. No super bowl hang over, as you russell guys think. Now on with the Fairview/Raceland game. This will be a war. Big rival game and now add that the loser is done! Both teams had players out in first game, so that game is irrelevent. Both teams had established their identities by now and will be a toatlly new game. Should be a good one. Get your lawn chair out.

Basketball season should not start until after Football season has concluded (after the State Finals). No games should be able to be scheduled. Just like baseball should not be able to schedule games until basketball is over. Kids are ask to make to many decisions about the sports they play. Kids should be able to play all sports, without pressure from coaches.

Should be a good game. I think it is a toss up. The team that takes care of the ball will win this one. It will be the first win for one of them...

Turnovers are a part of the game. With the turnovers the Rams had a short field all night, so that can answer why the Eagles had more yards and first downs. Now if they meet again it could be a different outcome, but maybe not. Both teams were missing players that night, so who knows.... Both teams have alot of work and games to play before we talk playoffs.

Any word out of Ram land on what players will be playing?? Are Denton and Carver back?

I have heard that Raceland has a number of players out. Will they get any of them back for this week's game???

Does someone have inside info on coach McGlone??? He is a great man and coach.

goherd96 I know Casey ended up having a great career at Russell. But I know for a fact that he came to a summer practice with the Rams a couple of years ago when he was thinking of transferring. He is great player and any school would have loved to had him. But in the end it all worked out for everyone, Russell has had a great two year run and the Rams finished 11-2 last year losing to state champion NCC in the regional finals.

Nothing to do about being in right places. Talent level and ability is what matters. If you can play the colleges will find you. Not knocking players in our area but we do not have many big time college athletes in any sport. We do have some exceptions. We mainly have D2, D3, NAIA types kids and there is nothing wrong with this. They can still get help for college and get to play at the next level. Most of all get that education.

Usually players in our area do not get full scholarships. I was getting at not many D-1 scholarships. They get help/aid from school with some of the cost when they go to d2, d3, naia schools. Believe me there is nothing wrong with getting help for college and getting to play sports too. The education is the most important thing!!!

I agree any scholarship is a good one.

How many 16th region kids get a basketball scholarships? Have not been many D-1 players.

Kids should enjoy high school sports. It is a great time. If a kid is worthy of a scholarship they will get one.

May be time to move on. It seems that Coach Tackett has, as well as Fairview school system.

This may have already been started before. But I was just wondering who and when everyone scrimmages. I am ready for some football.

Poeple have debated what went at Fairview for Coach Tackett to leave. Each side has a story. But for a guy to leave his dream job (coaching at the school he played for) and job that he was successful at tells you something was not right. I am not pointing fingers at either side, but something was not right. Now that it is over, Good Luck to all those invovled.
