Clean shaven or not....
I do agree with almost everything said as far as instilling discipline. I imposed the short hair directive (along with my dad) on myself. I played ball in the late80's when the mullet and earrings were the fad. But today, many will not play based on prinicples they have imposed on themsleves that they will not cut their hair - these are intelligent student-athletes. I do understand the value of conforming to "old-school" societial norms, but we no longer judge people by the way they look or how they dress. I can't stand the sagging but I won't throw that student out because of it. I will draw him in and help him change his beliefs and values toward this. I can't do it if he doesn't play though. I know it sounds like I am hedging but this is my approach. It works for me.

A question for Somerset fans?
I guess we should be congratulating Somerset for finding a way to keep winning. that is, afterall, what it is all about. And now they do not have to drive far to do it either!

Who was the best QB in the state this year??
Ammons was a great high school QB. So was Ross Deaton, who hasn't been mentioned, probably because he played in the small class, but his numbers were pretty impressive too. I got to see ammons play this season and I watched Petrino play in the State Championship game. Petrino is a better QB. In Ammons defense, I didn't get to watch him in a Championship game! But Ammons in my opinion, is just a good QB, which there were several of those around the state with same skills. I didn't get the chance to see the Tandy kid play, but D-1 is D-1, hard to argue with that.

A question for Somerset fans?
Asfor the Corbin game, BIG difference palying a team in a home and home as opposed to playing a team year in and year out in district play. As far as "running away" whether Somerset is or isn't, The perception is much to overlook...twice.

Ryan Smart PSW HUGE night!
Smart played tailback against Boyle last night, with Hampton on the sideline. He is an incredibly hard runner and great talent!

Boyle Co. 57 Pulaski Co. 0
Quit hiding behind veiled excuses like this. The team was upset that they lost a district game and took it out on the next squad they played. The sole intention was to run it up and send a message to the rest of the district that they would not tolerate losing to them. Afterall this is BOYLE! Losing in this district is not an option!:fire:

Pulaski County Football
The juniors and seniors this went through several different coaches with different coaching styles and game plans ( most of which relied on the atheletic skill of a few rather than teaching fundamentals and teaching them the game). They had winning seasons but not to the success of the last two middle school teams. On a side note, PC played much better against Taylor Co. this week. They still made a ton of mistakes but it looks like this team took steps in the right direction on friday.

Who are your Mr. Football Candidates?
Does anyone know what ammons stats are?

Southwestern At Boyle Co.
Mystique, Mystique Mystique. The rebels have it. Until someone in the district is able to overcome that, Boyle is always going to be the favorites in district play - even if they are "down". WIth that I have to say rebels win and the mystique remains firmly in place.

Best WR's in the Mountains?
Cole is one of the best in the state let alone the mountains. He is the only weapon the Jumpers have and teams still can't stop him. They know it is going to him and he catches it anyway and get YACs like a madman.

Pulaski County Football
It sounds as if an opinion was formed from one game. Don't forget that the other games that PC played this were against Playoff teams. I didn't see anyone else in this county able to beat Danville ( though SW did as good a job as anyone has this year against the Ads). Franklin is supposed to be bound for the state championship in 3A ( according to some on here) and E. Jessimine is a perennially good, tough game for anyone. So they layed an egg in the one game in their non district schedule they should have won. They turned around and play Corbin (not a shabby bunch either) better than the scoreboard showed. It sounds like they are getting things righted at the right time

Why the attack on a coach who is trying to do the best he can for a team that is struggling? As for his comments about Ammons, I have seen several QB's around the state and he is no better or no worse than, say, Cashen at Corbin or Jones at SW. They are not getting Mr. Football talk. All the hype around Ammons is just that. He is a good QB, but there are just as good if not better in the state right now. PC football seems to be going through the growing pains that any young team goes through. With the exception of Campbellsville ( no offense C'ville backers), they have played a very difficult non-district schedule and after watcing them play Corbin, I predict that they can win 3 district games and make the playoffs this year.
