Ryan Smart PSW HUGE night!

Featured Replies

One of the state's best kept secrets exploded again tonight on the big stage. For those coaches that are voting on the all state team I hope Ryan Smart at least makes the honorable mention team and I am no way affiliated with PSW.

Before his last run was called back tonight Smart was right at 300 yards rushing himself vs Boyle Co. I think Danville fans will tell you too that this kids shows up in the big games. I had the pleasure of coaching him when he was younger before he moved to PSW and I've had a lot of kids over the years at various top programs. Very few impress me enough to say that I hope my son turns out to be that good of a kid.

Hats off to Ryan Smart, his Oline, his coaches and the skill guys around him. This is a great night for PSW and I had chills listening to the game as I drove into Lexington. The Boyle Co announcers said they felt like he was better than Lee Renfro which is huge to even be in that same breathe around there. Kudos to that whole team and good luck next week!

This has nothing to do with the kid, but I appreciate the kind words you always give kids in KY High School football you've been associated with.

I'm sure this guy is a player, but he is also lucky to have encountered such a positive-type person as a role model.

BTW...I hope the kids are doing well.:thumb:

I got to listen to a few minutes of the Boyle broadcast, and they couldn't say enough good things about Ryan. It's nice to see how he's blossomed.

Thank you that means a lot!:thumb: He has had great guidance at home and from his coaches in Pulaski Co.

Ryan has put together a great year. Seems like he had a couple of TD's a fumble recovery and Int vs Danville too. It's nice to see him playing big in the big games.

For those of us who get to be around Ryan on a daily basis his football abilities are secondary to the awesome young man he is.. Never brags, always polite and gives his team mates the credit for his success.. Just a pleasure to be around...

Per Lexington Herald Smart did rush for 300 yards last night from the FB position! That is a great accomplishment against a team the caliber of Boyle Co in the playoffs from a fullback! I know he credits his OL and the skill guys around him:)

Wow, 300 yards! Congrats to Mr. Smart and the entire Southwestern team. Great, great win. Earlier I had picked Boyle to get revenge after Southwestern lost a couple of starters from their backfield but after seeing how Ryan carried the load against Pulaski I changed my pick this week to Southwestern and they (SW and Smart) came through in a big way. How are the 2 injured players, is there any chance of them being back next week? Either way good job Warriors keep it rolling--thoughts and prayers to Coach Anderson's father-in-law...

Smart played tailback against Boyle last night, with Hampton on the sideline. He is an incredibly hard runner and great talent!

Herald Leader got its stats from teams stat man. He forgot to subtract the penalty that was called against SW at the end of the game that shortened Ryan's final run of the game by 35 yards.

I had Ryan with 269 Rushing 1 TD and 3 catches for 39 yards.

A great performance by a class kid. He and the rest of the Warriors gave their all on the field last night.

OL had a great night and Cammando is correct about Ryan. A pleasure to be around and always gives the credit to his teammates.
