Anyone remember "Magilla Gorilla", or "Laugh Olympics"? Hong Kong Fuey(sp) was another one I loved groing up. Fantastic 4, Space Ghost, Thundar the Barbarian, & Superfriends were all great cartoons. BOOMERANG network still shows alot of the great older cartoons. AHHH, the good ole' days.

I absolutely agree. Hughes and Shoemaker can take a lot of pressure off of Hall, ifthey continue torun like they did on Friday. It should open up opportunities for Cole as well because Defenses will have to commit defenders to stopping those two bulls. I say feed them the ball a bunch, shorten games and make them stop those two first.:thumb:

Jumper Dad, if you are interested in knowing why people are slamming Somerset, it goes back the comments that the Jumpers played awful and that is why they lost, implying that PC had nothing to do with it, which deep down we all is not true. Now, I feel that Somerset played their hearts out on Friday and will give more next week, with 0-2 looming if they don't. I can see Somerset losing 2 in a row, unless they give up ( which I am sure is not likely). Also, I would to say that I have read on here and elsewhere that this game meant more to PC than to Somerset, that is because of Pride. I am not saying that Somerset doesn't have pride, but isn't that worth playing your guts out against your natural, corsstown rival. If SW wasn't always a district game, I guarantee that pride would be enough there too.

No it was 6 td rushing and 1 passing. He had 248yds rushing, and i think it he had 98yds passing.

Chris Muse - QB Pulaski Co. Not sure on yardage, but he rushed for 6 TD's and threw for 1.

I think it is play is a strong district against great competition, and not worry about travel miles!

I noticed some SHS players out on the practice field w/ helmets on during the first game. Was that the high school or middle school team messing around out there? Can't wait for this heat to die down!

I have to say shoulda, coulda, woulda. I am sure PC fans are saying if we tackled Hughes better, this game would have been a blow out. The teams played the way they played. Both teams played hard/ the best they could. I am sure Somerset's secondary will play better as the year wears on, as well PC's linebackers. To say if this would have happened or that would have happened is taking away from the effort that was given by the opponent. There is no way I can discredit Hughes or Hines or Muse like that. They played a heck of a game, and in my opinion, Hughes is the most important offensive player SHS has. I do agree that they need to get Coomer the ball more (BTW, he scored on a PC 10 man defense- not Coomers fault/take advantage of what they give ya). I feel they had a great team-as does PC- and both these teams will hang their hats on offense this year- which everyone knew was going to be the case even before the game was played. I like to think of this game as two powerful offenses that overpowered two adequate defenses!

Muse finished with 6 rushing TDs & 1 Passing, 7 total for the Maroons. Hines was the best player on the field last night, playing fantastic offense, defense, & special teams (He set the tone w/ the hit on Cole on the 1st drive of the game). Somerset just wasn't ready for what they saw in PC's team speed & game plan. Somerset seemed to be out of gas by midway thru the 3rd Qtr, but just would not go away. It looked like PC was in better condition as the game wore on, as it was a M.A.S.H. unit on SHS sideline late 3rd on. Has to be one of the alltime fun games to watch. Not pretty, but fun to watch. Congrats to PC.

I am not an expert, but I have never heard Danville of Mayfield or Corbin, make that small school/ low numbers excuse. As far as I know they don't even bring it up. Danville is a good example because they play Boyle (thee big school) on a yearly basis, so....

Oh yeah, in the first game,That is going to be an absolutely great game. Both teams are at the same place and it is difficult to see an advantage, so we will go with the hometown boys and say SW in a close one.

Somerset is lacking team speed to keep up with PC. Take Cole out of the picture, and they are very slow team. After seeing a slow N. Laurel team stay step for step with them and watching PC host a track meet with Garrad, thiswill be the difference. Cole is a great player, no doubt about it, but he can't be everywhere. He also seemed not to be interested in playing defense in that scrimmage, and don't give me he was saving it for the season, he is not that good. When you step on the field, you need to play - especially at a small school- whether it is on offense and defense. So to sum up my post, PC is faster than Somerset and that is what will lead PC to victory!

Heard the scrimmage has been moved to Garrard Co. Saturday @ 8pm. The stadium @ PCHS is still under construction & they don't want people in there right now. Hope it will be ready for the opener in a couple of weeks.

Mercer's district has two other district champs in Lincoln (4a) and Southwestern(3a-a district that included Boyle). That is a district that is hard to beat.

Chase Harp is a name I heard was looking into the job. I actually heard he was interviewed? Is this a true statement?

I haven't seen the Cissell kid in person since his freshmen year, but what I have seen from video, he has progressed nicely and is one of the best in the state. Does anyone know what his 40 time is?

How about the kid from Danville Macon. Since we are covering the other two schools in the county, Ronnie Claibourne at PC is as good as anyone.

What about the Pulaski v. Waggoner play off game 82 -63 i think... I don't remember the final I just remember that PC came from way down to win this in regulation. the Wag had Alfonzo Smith and PC had Cole draughn...Neither team would quit. Great game!

At Pulaski, I have tried to start a wrestling club -meets during club time once a month. My problem is having a place to do anything and since I am not an official sport I have not financial backing - plus I am that familiar with the ins and outs of wrestling (I'm a football coach). But we (coaching staff) would love to get a team started. If anone has any information for me I would love to get this together.

PUlaski start spring drill this week

I won't knock Somerset, PC is a great when they play as one, and on Friday night they did. Everyone contributed on both ends and played this game to the end. I say we don't critisize Somerset but Congratulate PC. they played a great game.
