No real favorite for Mr. Basketball
I don't see how anyone would watch Bopper play and not see: his ability, his basketball IQ, the way he leads as a point guard, his scoring, and his heart! Just to name a few. He is just a great basketball player!

No real favorite for Mr. Basketball
Have played against Clemons from PRP, Mekay from Moore, and Stenzel from GRC. I would vote Clemons, Stenzel, and then Mekay. I have seen Trinity, but it is hard to get a good read on Diuedonne- they have so many good players that other teams cannot focus on just one, two, or even three of their players defensively. He is good, no doubt, but it is hard to tell how good! The same thing could be said about Clemons and Mekay- they both have great teams. I was really impressed with Stenzel! Maybe not what most people think of as the best player in the state, but he is a great point guard that really makes their team go.

Winners and Losers of State Tournament Draw
Both Louisville teams lost in the semifinals last year! Eastern to Christian County and Bullitt East to Rowan County.

Rules Question
Here is what I understand the rule to be: you may smack the board in your effort to block a shot. If you hit the board and in the officials mind, you did not have a chance at blocking the shot, it is a technical. If the ball is on the rim when you smack and shake the backboard -once again a judgement call- it is goaltending! If anyone sees this differently, please chime in!

Bullitt East / Rowan County predictions
Willis is 6'9", but only plays like it on the defensive end. On offense he plays mostly on perimeter. Bullitt East in a close game!!
-
Trinity / Madison Central predictions
Both great teams!! But Trinity is really good - Rocks by 12.

Possible State Tournament Predictions
I think the final four are the best 4 teams in the tourney! From what I have seen this year - Trinity has to be the favorite! Hands-down! But so was Eastern last year...
-
Trinity 74 Moore 57
They have to be the favorite for not only winning the 7th region but the state title as well! But last year everyone thought Eastern was a lock to win it all! That's why they play the games.

Bullitt East 71 Southern 46
Bullitt East is a solid team. Athletic, well coached, great shooters, play smart, and they have one of the best players in the state in Derek Willis! He is very unselfish, probably too much, and a great defender for them around the basket. They have to be one of the favorites for the 6th region title- you have to remember they went to Rupp last year, so they are experienced and know what it takes to get there!

Who will win the LIT??
Quarterfinals: Top Bracket: Trinity vs Eastern and Jtown vs PRP Lower Bracket: Bullitt East vs Ballard and Manual vs Moore
-
Who will win the LIT??
Who will win the LIT? I have been very impressed by Trinity and PRP. Can't wait to see that semi-final if it happens!! I think the winner of that game wins the title!!
-
Bullitt Central 47 Oldham County 44
Bullitt Central having a solid season!! They will be a tough team to beat come tournament time!!
-
Butler 62 Bullitt East 53
They are definitely in the group of teams that can win the 6th region. Bullitt East, PRP, Moore, and Jtown being the others.

Danville 69 Louisville Southern 66
We are struggling adjusting to basketball outside of Louisviile. More whistles. More zone. Much more patience on offense by opponents. Good learning experience. Shows kids that there is more than one way to play winning basketball.

Danville 69 Louisville Southern 66
So Boyle ended up losing today? They looked pretty good in the first half! What was the final score?
-
Danville 69 Louisville Southern 66
Coaching for the opposing team - believe me, it was not much fun to watch! I would use the word painful! But a great individual performance! We couldn't stop him! One of the best performances I have seen in my 17 years of coaching.

George Rogers Clark / Lexington Christian updates
I coached against GRC last night and they are tough to defend. Bopper is one of the best guards around. Tough to defend. Fatkin is a presence inside on defense-he made us alter several shots last night. And Rogers really has a great first step when he takes it to the basket. Mix in the other players who will hurt you when you leave them open and you have a really good team. They are a class act and will have areally good year! Good luck to them!

Top 15 teams in the state.
I don't know how much summer ball matters but I saw Bowling Green beat Eastern at Male. They looked pretty good to me. Athletic!!!! I don't know about top 15 in the state but they will have a good team!!

Top 25 players in the Commonwealth.
I would start with: 1. Derek Willis Bullitt East 2. Mekale Mekay Moore 3. Daryl Hicks Trinity
-
Trinity ranked as #50 in ESPN Preseason Top 50
The 7th Region was weakened a little in the redistricting. Moore and J-town moved to the 6th, while Central moved to the 7th. Because of this I see the 7th as a two team race-Trinity and Ballard!! The 7th Region tournament won't be near as tough this year!! I think the 6th with Bullitt East, Moore, PRP, Butler, and J'town will be wide open and more fun to watch!!

Cats' Pause 7th Region Preview
I wouldn't go that far!! The better programs get all the good players!! How are the middle and lower-tier schools ever going to compete if they year in and year out lose players in their own area to Ballard, Eastern, PRP, Manual, etc!! Students should have to go to their reside school. Only way to even the playing field. Then, you would have different schools having a chance to compete for a regional title instead of the same ones every year!!!

Cats' Pause 7th Region Preview
Sorry about my rules violation!!! What I meant to say was that schools with good programs draw student-athletes. If I am good at basketball and I want to go to a public school in Jefferson County than I would probably pick Ballard, Eastern, PRP, etc. That is the system we have right now...and it is what it is!!!

Cats' Pause 7th Region Preview
Who does??? Football and basketball both operate the same way!!!
-
Cats' Pause 6th Region Preview
You might be right- but I think it's a 5 team race. In order: Bullitt East, Moore, Butler, PRP, and J'town!! I think one of those 5 teams will be at Rupp representing the 6th region!!

Does anyone have the Cat's Pause rankings for the 6th and 7th Regions??
Looking for the team rankings of the 6th and 7th Regions from the Cat's Pause??
