Rank them up.

I would start with:

1. Derek Willis Bullitt East

2. Mekale Mekay Moore

3. Daryl Hicks Trinity

Rank them up.

These threads work much better when you give your opinion first. So how about it?

In no particular order. Yet.

Tamron Mannning

Taylor Barnette

Mekale Mekay(my favorite)

Jay Johnson(listing him anyways)

Daryl Hicks

Omar Prewitt

Jaylen Beckham

Derek Willis

D'Angelo Russell

Quentin Snider

Dominique Hawkins

Brandon Hatton

Isaiah Ivey

Matt Day-kid from Buckhorn-is that his name?

Nathan Diuedenne

Charles Foster

That's off the top of my head. I know I am missing some and may have over valued a few but I had some time to kill and this is what my brain came up with.

Why does Beckham continue to show up on these type lists??? Over the last two years I have seen him play multiple times, both for AAU teams and for high school teams, in the summer and in the regular season. He has been outplayed by the two or three best players on whatever teram he is facing and his teams have been beaten badly as well (I mean by 25 and 30 points).

Yeah but this isn't AAU and it's not the boarding school leagues either. Whether he is #7 on the list or #25 I feel pretty safe in saying he will be one of the top 25 players in the state. His attitude may leave much to be desired but his talent is undeniable. His sophomore year he was LexCath's best player.

For off the top of your head...good list. Some other players that could be added to the list are: James Quick, Jaysean Paige ( if he is ruled eligible), Muhlenbery Co has a 6'10 kid, Lemon Gregory, he is worth keeping a eye on, Adam Wing, Jackson Davis, and Shane Hall.

Hatton from Dixie is the best!

Hadn't heard of the Gregory kid. I'll keep an eye out.

I can't believe I left off Adam Wing.

We could probably put Trinity's starting 5 in the top 25. :lol

Davis and hall are two others definitely deserving mention as well.

I hope Jaysean can play. I'd like to check him out.

I'm looking forward to seeing this thread pick up steam as time goes on.

Where would Trey Grundy fall in? As well as Mike Smith? I know there are kids from Louisville I am missing on as well. Percy Slade and the other kid from Eastern also....drawing a blank on his name. Kid has a sweet jumper.

The other kid from Eastern is Tyrell Corlew.. Heard that Jordan Brangers a PG that played at North Hardin last year has transfered to Eastern and should be thier best player. He averaged over 13 points a game. Grundy and Smith I think will see their stock rise as the season goes on.

If Jaysean can play you can check out him and several other players on the list in the Joe B. Hall Classic at Montgomery Co on Jan 21 & 22. 21th you have Trinity vs Madison Central, Perry Co Cenrtal vs Ashland, and Sun. 22nd you have Rowan Co vs Bullitt East.

Here is the latest on Smith according to J. Demling:

Paul Dunbar junior Mike Smith is making another visit this weekend.Smith, who led the Lexington-area in scoring for Sayre each of the past two seasons, is visiting “Bulldog Madness” at Gardner-Webb on Friday night.

Smith has also recently been to IUPUI, Eastern Kentucky and Bowling Green.

From the article below our naming of the top players were all mention I believe.

From J Demling:

Trinity High School junior Darryl Hicks has been ranked No. 1 among high school basketball players in Kentucky in the updated rankings from Rick Bolus’ High Potential Recruiting Service. The 6-foot-4 Hicks will play his junior season at Trinity after sitting out last season following a transfer from Shelby County.

Another junior – Derek Willis of Bullitt East – is the No. 2 ranked player in the listing followed by Muhlenberg County senior Lemon Gregory, Moore senior Mekale McKay and Bryan Station senior Jaylen Beckham.

The rankings then have Rowan County senior Adam Wing, Scott County senior Tamron Manning, Woodford County senior Jay Johnson, North Oldham senior Devon Rowan, Lexington Christian senior Taylor Barnette, Central sophomore D’Angelo Russell and Ballard sophomore Quentin Snider rounding out the top 12.

The top sleeper is East Ridge sophomore Ray Kasongo.

The second 12 statewide includes six sophomores: Dixie Heights’ Brandon Hatton, Sheldon Clark’s Justin Johnson, Lafayette’s Jackson Davis, Johnson Central’s Shane Hall and Henry Clay’s Jordan Green and Trey Grundy.

Hatton is number 1 IMO.

In NKY, probably. In the whole state? Not yet.

With D'Angelo Russell leaving and going to Florida we can take him off the list.
