Great post. There are definently to many three's been taking by younger kids (grade school, middle school). This just ruins there game when they arrive in High School.

Id have to go with Owsley in a close one. If Neeley can stroke some three's, Smith can hit some big shots, and Trey can start hitting some shots, Owsley could win this game easily, however, if their shots dont fall, they are pretty much out of it without an inside game. This could be a great game.

Im not from Owsley County but i keep up with everybody in the region. I have seen several games that Neeley played in earlier that season and he took a shot every trip down the floor. Smith and Neeley could be the best back court in this region and they have showed that in 3 or 4 games since Smith has been back. I have seen the last couple of games the Owls have played and it looked to me that the Congleton boy as had a hard time getting his shot to fall. When these three start hitting there shots consistant and look for each other, this Owsley team will be really dangerous. Go HAZARD BULLDOGS!!!!

Amen... Big Game Player. Im glad to see a few out there that thinks Smith looks for his teammates. I cant wait to see Lee and Owsley possibly meet up for the fourth time. At this point it could be Smiths last game of his career or he could be him looking towards his next game. Good Luck Lee against Brossart.

If Gilbert has had so many double teams and triple teams on him, some body else is bound to be open. Pass it to the open man... MAN!!! I think Hicks is one of the best players int his region.

Rodney Mitchell, Tyson Gross and Daniel Combs all play at Alice Loyd. Mitchell I beleive is the only player that receives varsity time. The MArtin kid plays at Berea. Im not sure if he receives Varsity Time but i think he plays for their JV. I have no idea where the kid from South Laurel PLays.

I think this would be very interesting. You could possibly see a #16 team up setting the #1 team. There would be many upsets. I think the atmosheres would be a lot more huger because a lot of these smaller schools havent ever played in the region tourney because their district is stacked with big schools.

It looked to me Rich wasnt pushing him around like he did the other boys that tried to guard him. Smith stood his ground, and actually pushed Rich out of the lane several times. The game wasnt late when Smith picked him up. Smith picked him up at the start of the second half. What game were you watching?

It looks to me that they have already tripled the wins since he has came back. 1 and 10 without him. 3 and 4 with him. Why dont you guys give this kid a break.

I would have to say Bowling is a HECk of a hitter, however he isnt as good as pitcher as Smith and isnt as good as OF as Congleton. Smith is also a very good hitter himself. He hits with finesse and Bowling hits for power.

It looks to me that Smith is the topic again in this thread. What is it about this kid that you all hate so much? Is it because he is usually the best player on the floor? I think you all should give this Owlsey team a break, and quit pointing fingers at individuals. It doesnt matter who handled the ball. Owsley didnt even run an offense. It looked to me Smith wasnt the only person on his team forcing bad shots. I still think this kid is a great player; no matter what you guys have to say about him. Give it a break!!!

A great game for owsley. I listinged to it on the radio, while i watched wolfe beat Hazard.. BOO!!! Good win for the wolves. It sounded like Neeley and Smith had there way with JBS; they scored about 7 or 8 straight possesions. Owsley is becoming a tough team, but they will have there hands full come Friday night, facing a very good Lee COunty team. That game will have a tremendous atmoshpere. I will definently drive over and watch that game. Good Luck Owls!!!

I think he is around 6'2". From the games i have watched he handles the ball a lot, and plays the 2 guard position most of the time. Extremely athletic.

I wouldnt say Cody Gilbert without a question. His team hasnt won but 3 games. So does he make his team click? If this was the case id put that new kid from Owsley as the best player in the 14th. He's played in 5 games and has already won just as many.

June Buchanan would have to be up in the polls. They have beat some of the best teams in this region. Perry being one. Breathitt beat Leslie, and then June Buchanan beat Breathitt easily from what i have heard. They have to pose somekind of threat.

Clay will win this one easily. Leslie matches up pretty good, but Swafford and Clay are playing some great ball right now. Clay by double digits.

Swafford is definently top ten material. He's is a very tough kid, and can finish at the basket. He is also a threat on the defensive end.

Yea, Smith is no doubt one of the top three players in the region. Give him 5 to 6 more games and then rate the top ten players.
