NO! I think Gilbert is the best without question but that was a summary of what people have stated & there opinions. Those were all mentioned as "the best" so that would be a good start for a top 10 but most vote with their loyalty to their home school.

This has been a fun season!!! Every game is going to be nip & tuck. Just when you think there is going to be a blowout or an easy win, you get fooled once again (LCC against Jenkins, KCC against Lee, JBS against PCC) & everything gets thrown out the window once again. Rankings should be posted on a day to day basis since there seem to be upsets every night.

The thread is "who is the best player in the 14th region." Although Bailey is a good player he is not "the best" and probably not consistently in anyone's top 5. Take away Hazard votes & he's not in anyones top 5. I guess, Bailey is better than Gilbert???

This should be an excellent game. Owsley is playing much better. Lee seems to have woken up from their nap. Owsley has matchup problems with Rich. While Owsley has 2 good scorers in Neeley & Smith. Owsley goes about 6 (maybe 7) deep & will be playing 2 games in 3 days. Lee plays about 9 & will be playing their 3rd game in 5 days. I think all excuses are out the window here & the best team will win!!!!

thats true. I know people said that jackson city use to use lee's college floor & it was college size. the added feet would make a difference over the course of a game. Nets also make a difference. running teams have small nets so that the balls go through easy. Teams that want to slow things down have big thick new nets that seem like will hold the balls in them.

Yes, I think that if your on the floor more you'll have better stats. Stats i'm refering is points since that's all that is in the herald leader & why many people know congleton. A kid averaging 25 mins a game will have more points consistently than a kid with 15 mins per.

Would he be mentioned as much if he were at lee since many of those players i havent heard of as much as congleton (fetters, johnson). heard about brandenburg & "the twins" but really not good with their last name.

AGREED!!! Home Court is HUGE!!! court is the same size & goals are all 10 feet but everything else sways towards the home team. 1. no driving 2. familiar goals and gym 3. more fans (environment vary but are 99% in favor of home teams on any given night) 4. clock keeper & other personnel (how many home team fans have been put in jail by their sheriff?) They may leave the gym by referee request but very few go to jail. 5. referees (varies depending on out of region & other factors)

BB & ARC you can help: I know lee was beaten by Knott a week or so ago. did their JV's play?? Doesnt really matter but i was just wonder since there isnt JV scores posted anywhere & i was curious.

Will Owsley play there "patented" 2-3 zone against JBS or will they man up. Owsley is not very deep & a 2-3 may help keep neeley & smith out of foul trouble but could open up the perimeter.

I know there was a thread last year about JV teams. I dont get to see many of these games but was wondering what teams were good & such. What are some teams that will be making some noise in the next few years??

I disagree, teams like PCC, LCC, Lee, Hazard?, Estill etc are really/pretty deep. There are many players that do not get 30 mins a night & dont get the exposure & opportunity of scoring by simply being on the floor more. I know Lee plays about 9 guys every night & from what i've heard their bench is pretty solid. Some guys may get 20 mins one night & 10 the next depending on how they're playing & how others are playing. For teams like Owsley (3 main guys that wont come out; smith, neeley & congleton & a huge drop off after that), Wolfe has Cody & Stamper & a drop off, etc. They dont have the luxury of spelling people or benching them because of play. this is just my opinion but I've seen Lee & Owsley; I do not think Congleton is as good as either of the Liesegangs, Fetters or Johnson (i think they're all juniors) but his name does get in the paper b/c he plays a lot. JMO

The hardest thing to judge are decent/good players on bad teams & decent/good on good teams. Congleton is a good player for Owsley but I dont know how effective he would be on a better team. Willis for PCC comes off the bench & isnt that impressive (imo) but if he played on some other teams, he'd get 30 mins a night. I'm not knocking any players but its just sometimes hard to determine how good they are since all are in completely different situations.

How will the the 2nd round & rest of hte All A play out?? 2nd Round JBS @Owsley (good game but Stepp & inside too much for owls) Jenkins @ Lee (Lee should cruise, if they play) Cordia @Buckhorn (Buckhorn @ home & they are for real) Hazard @Wolfe (Wolfe playing better & can win but going with Bulldogs) Semi's JBS vs. Lee (Lee can matchup & depth helps in tourny time) Buckhorn vs. Hazard (Hazard is always ready in tourny time) Final Lee vs Hazard (tradition says hazard but lee had a big win in JCC tourny & should help overcome the experience factor & Depth, depth, depth) Lee is the champions
