  1. Bringing the nation together. Improving education. Fixing our economy. Ending our War in Iraq & improving our foreign policy & "diplomacy".
  2. In last night's debate, Obama stated that his average donation was around $109. 1 million time $109 = $109 million 1 million is a very impressive number.
  3. We're now in the spin zone. We don't want our leader & country to be liked by others? We don't want our leader to be respected by other countries and the world? I have wondered why many of you do not like Obama but it must be because he doesn't talk so Europeans and other countries can understand. Let's relive some of these great "W" quotes that I'm sure the world really respects: "I don't particularly like it when people put words in my mouth, either, by the way, unless I say it." --George W. Bush, Crawford, Texas, Nov. 10, 2007 "My job is a decision-making job, and as a result, I make a lot of decisions." Lancaster, Pa., Oct. 3, 2007 "I heard somebody say, 'Where's (Nelson) Mandela?' Well, Mandela's dead. Because Saddam killed all the Mandelas." --George W. Bush, on the former South African president, who is still very much alive, Washington, D.C., Sept. 20, 2007 "The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., July 12, 2007 "You helped our nation celebrate its bicentennial in 17 -- 1976." --George W. Bush, to Queen Elizabeth, Washington, D.C., May 7, 2007 "more and more of our imports come from overseas.". Beaverton, Oregon on 9/25/00
  4. To put things into context, here are some other parts to Bill Cunningham's speech: "Now we have a hack, Chicago-style Daley politician" "the great prophet from Chicago takes the stand and the world leaders who want to kill us will simply be singing Kumbaya together around the table with Barack Obama." he didnt just use Barack Hussein Obama but put it into "Muslim context".
  5. If a bi-racial man who has the name Barack Hussein Obama is in a position to be the Democratic Nomination, he has ran an outstanding campaign. He is not a war hero who after decades of politics is a candidate. His spouse was not a former president. He has had an uphill battle that he has seemed to won on every phase. While many of you may not like his position (most are conservative & don't even like most of McCain's positions), you have to at least give him credit for running an almost flawless campaign.
  6. I do not necessarily favor bans but I do support background checks, regulations, etc. These are the things that pro-gun people don't want. I just want to make sure we do what we can to keep guns in the hands of people that are responsible. I do know "crazies" will still get guns. This is similar to the same argument with casino's. If we have casino's, more debt more bankruptcy more poverty. If there aren't regulations, then crime could go up. As will people go bankrupt even without casino's in KY. (I support casinos by the way)
  7. This is a terrible argument. People that are pro-gun want NO REGULATIONS. fast cars are regulated - emissions, safety & it may go 200 but you have SPEED LIMITS. motorcycles are regulated as well - license, speed limits, helmets This is not about need or not needed it is about regulations!! People that are pro-gun want very limited regulations/rules. The problem is that EVERYTHING IS REGULATED (food, environment, speed limit, cars, building codes, fire codes, taxes, etc etc etc)
  8. Fear tactics!! Like him being a muslim, or him being a terrorist in disguise. I just don't like these tactics from either side. His name has no relevence to him performing his duties and responsibilities as president.
  9. how much do we make off tariffs? It seems 90% of all goods are produced in a nother country so we should be getting "boo-kooz" of money from them. I'm not talking about imports/exports but the $$ amount that we get from tariffs from imports from other countries.
  10. Most of those are going to Obama. In states where independents can vote in either election, more are choosing to vote for Obama over McCain. This may not happen in the general election but I would rather being trying to hold my votes than pull them from someone else. I have seen crazier things happen but McCain would have to go really negative & I just dont know how that would play out to those independents. Again, it will be interesting.
  11. I don't think most "people" in America would not support is #1 issue. I do not think having our troops in Iraq for 40 to 100 years will be a good "pulling our nation together" issue. This is his main issue. I have heard him speak several times & his main focus is the war & then he'll essentially extend Bush's tax cuts. I don't think the nation will rally around any of GW's economic policies.
  12. This is the same argument for slavery. They (tribes) did it so why not us? How can you see these other countries do terrible things but we have to justify the "atrocities" that our nation has done. It is our history. It was wrong then, it's wrong now.
  13. WHAT?? would you want to get elected?? We've had 42 presidents (Cleveland twice) & all have been white males. This wouldn't be a good strategy.
  14. Very good point! Its odd to have a concuring view on this forum.
  15. This is a good point and the first I have seen "bi-racial". To me it is funny that we "label" people and races. While Tiger Woods is part a bunch of races, we label him as "African American". While Obama is 1/2 white & 1/2 black, we call him "African American". I'm sure the skin color makes a big part of their identification since they are not "visibly white", they would not be accepted as "white" or "part white".
  16. its called interpretation. The Bible is written ONE way but we have over 300 denominations. why is that? interpretation. I personally do not have a problem with background checks, assault weapon restrictions, requiring manufactures to have safety locks, etc. Most liberals are in favor of some restrictions, so if you want to call that anti-gun then why not. If you support "safety lock" or background checks, then you really can't be fully "pro-gun" now can we.
  17. I just do not see assault rifles being a huge topic in the frame of the problems that we have in our country at this point. I prefer to think of the glass as "half full" instead of "half empty". I hope Obama becomes president but if he doesn't, I will rally around whoever is, to fix our nation.
  18. We'll agree to disagree on this point. I just don't see this as random. People don't assassinate presidents or presidential candidates for no reason. They may but I just dont agree.
  19. Mood of the country had no impact when JFK was assassinated in 1963, Bobby in 1968 & MLK in 1968. Those were just random assassinations? This did come during something called the "civil rights movement".
  20. I agree with this statement. While I have very similar views with Clinton & Obama, I feel Obama can pull the nation together. I do not think that Republican can work with Hillary. Conservative Republicans don't even care that much for McCain, so how can he pull the nation together. We are different on many views but I do wish that our next president is a true "uniter" and not another "divider".
  21. I'm assuming that you really enjoy "conspiracy theories". But honestly, I appreciate your views more than any i've heard. It relates directly to the 2nd amendment. No need to interpret. While I disagree with it, it is my favorite 100% pro-gun view that I have heard.
  22. Is this in terms of intelligence, experience or what? Best interest to you or the country? Is it whichever collaborates who you like the best, at the moment?
