We have a civilian military so you think our military would attack itself. Does that really make any sense? We don't have mercenaries in our military, they are civilian volunteers.

I do not think him being black is as big a problem as his message. JFK wasn't black or Bobby Kennedy but they were assassinated b/c of the changing moods of America. Reagan also had 2 assassination attempts on him.

I can tell most of the language is very biased ("frivolous", "squelching") or vague ("against pro-gun legislation" in 2004). If you want to allow guns to flow freely with no background checks, zero regulations and very little safety regulations, I would say Obama is not your man. If you need an assault weapon to prepare & train your militia, he is also not your man. If you need an assault weapon, bazooka or rocket launcher to kill a deer or elk or elephant, he's probably not your man.

Obama actually goes out & addresses everyone that is turned away (due to capacity being reached) for all of his rally's. He also denied secret service assistance until he was talked into it.

I would not consider Cuba, Iraq or Iran to be anything remotely similar to Hitler. I do agree that this gives for good "propaganda" though. So you would rather attack Iran than talk to them about the situation? You would rather send troops to fight them that will get killed than sit down for 1 discussion? Obama was a civil rights attorney, knows the Constitution better than most, was the first President of the Harvard Law Review & could have had any gotten a job at any law firm but decided to be a civil rights attorney. I don't think he will step on the Constitution since his life has revolved around it. What do you think?

I just do not see a 5 year war that has caused the life of thousands of U.S. & Iraqi citizens plus the billions of dollars as positive. Wars are bloody & sometimes necessary but I feel that it is a last ditch effort. If its was a last ditch effort, we would have had more support from other countries & the U.N. We went in solely, so every soldier will be U.S. & all funds will be paid by us. The UN taking actions is much different than the U.S. acting alone.

over 967,000 people have donated (on his site) so I would assume there would be some that slip through. They have stated that they returned some donations because of conflicts. I would rather a candidate take this stance than those of Clinton or McCain.

I do not know every specific but I do know he supports background checks and things like that. I would think that he knows the Constitution much better than hunting.

This is a very conservative forum, as you have noticed. Not many on here really want to know the facts about any Democrat. As this thread will show!!

How do you know where they would take us?? More republican propaganda & scare tactics. Democrats can't defend our nation. How was our security during Bill Clinton?? I just don't think the "bully technique" is the only strategy to have in foreign relations. It is a necessary evil sometimes but I would try other means to bring peace instead of going directly to war.

If you are wanting businesses taken care of then McCain is definitely your man. The biggest majority of his staff & even his campaign manager are or were lobbyist. over 964,000 people have donated to Barack Obama. None of which came from lobbyist (at least directly) and no "swift boat" to my knowledge.

Which reason for invading do you support? I don't like the thought that we dictate what every other country does. Instead of waiting to get support from other countries, we invaded on our own. We invade a country that has not done anything to us directly.

Dems & Congress have given all the funding that has been asked b/c it wasn't the troops fault that we're in Iraq. I do support Afghanistan b/c they did attack our country but I do not support the Iraq War. The info was at the least misleading to citizens & had not immediate thread to us. I do understand your position but do not agree with it. We'll agree to disagree on this matter.

Here are my views regarding Obama: While I teach my children to work out their problems and try to talk things through, I also, if this doesn't work, at some point you have to take a stand. I don't see why this stance is so bad in foreign policy. If you have a problem with us, let's FIRST try to work it out. If we can't, then we'll have to take necessary precautions. My view is that communication will more than likely lead to less violence. Will violence occur, yes, but we owe it to our troops that will put their lives on the line to at least see if we can solve the problem(s) first.

This is a very good political position by Republicans. They have portrayed the Republican party as a way to keep us safe, even though the biggest Attack came while a Republican was in office. After that, we have been in TWO wars for 5 years. It has depleted our treasury & our armed forces. Some military units have had to use confiscated Taliban (Russian) weapons when ours break b/c we can't get them the weapons that they need in a timely fashion.

Like Fox News repeated statements of "fair & balanced". If you're wondering they aired reports that Obama was a Muslim and that he went to a madra (work meaning school) just youtube it. I don't view these as attack ads. If you are a conservative, you will look for reasons & articles to support your position (like this one). If you are a liberal, you will look for the same but in reverse. I for one, do not like the direction that our country is in. I feel that McCain will be very similar to our current President. If you say, well that's okay I like Bush, then your one of 30% of Americans.
