Buckhorn is 12-6 and Knott is 6-9 and if Knott county doesnt go prepared to play it could be a long night.

I think if JBS wins the 14th region crown that PCC is the team that they have to beat. I am not basing this on the fact that they just beat Hazard it is based on the fact that they have the best coach in the region and also they have some very good players that if they gel could finish out the season well. I think that PCC has had some internal problems recently and this may affect them one way or the other. I have watched them play some games this year and wondered how they could be as bad as they were. JBS has loaded their games this season where they have played almost all of their road games and finish their season out at home. JBS is very talented and practice and play real well on a college floor of Alice Lloyd and some high school teams have a hard time adjusting to the larger floor. I think this will be a great game to watch and will be decided in the closing moments. I think the home team will win and that happens to be Buckhorn...by 2...

I think Rose Hills inexperience is starting to show at a bad time for them. I thought they might could win the 16th but not this year. It probably wont be long though.

I think Breathitt is going through what JBS has went through the last couple of years and that is trying to earn peoples respect. JBS still goes through that some of that like when they lost 2 games in the 5th/3rd some people started yelling overrated. (even though it was to 2 top 15 teams). This Breathitt team will have to learn that you constantly have every game critiqued by the so called experts. The thing about being ranked highly is that it pleases alot of people when the top guys get beat. I agree that even though JBS is to favorite it doesnt mean they will win because there are alot of teams that are capable of beating JBS on a given night. I have not seen Breathitt play but I will be there when they play JBS soon and no matter who wins I think it will a good game for both teams to play. I have always felt that you get better by playing good teams. Good luck to both teams .

I really dont think it has anything to do with immaturity it is just that they play other peoples style of play instead of using their size and making teams adust to them. I think the JBS coaching staff showed that they intend to play the younger Stepp even if is a game that he cannot help and even if it beats them.

I honestly think that if JBS played the people who deserve to play and played team ball that no one in this region is close to them in talent. I am not saying they cant be beat but if they put away the personal agendas it would be real hard.

I went and saw the game and here are my honest views(hope I dont offend anyone but here how I saw it.) Cordia shot the lights out(probably 60%) and most shots were wide open shots. They were very patient on offense and Coach Honeycutt had a great game plan. The Cordia kids played very hard and deserved to win also. JBS didnt have a good game plan and I think was overlooking Cordia and thinking of playing Hazard. Clark Stepp made some big shots at the end of the game but took some horrible shots in the first half. CLint Stepp played almost the whole game and hit only one shot and never had any assists or rebounds that I saw. The people he was guarding scored many times and the fans couldnt understand why they were playing him???JBS never used their big men even though they had a huge size advantage. The Conley kid hit 4 shots in the first half and didnt play much in the 2nd half. Collins played well at the end of the game when they finally decided to throw him the ball. I hope that JBS doesnt throw the season away to serve some special agenda. This is what I saw tonight.

Qualification is based on a year to year basis and that is why Knott County does not qualify next year. The figure is based on 450 students in the 10-12 grades and some years some classes fluctuate.

Your comments couldnt be farther from the truth. You can't compare the All A to a 5th/3rd because the 5/3 has a small number of schools that are involved and by invitation only. Did you know that 55% of all high schools in KY participate in the ALL A. This number keeps increasing each year due to decreased enrollments in the public schools. It may not be a state tourney to you but to the kids that work for months to get the opportunity to play there it means alot to them. This is like saying that the A class in football is not a real class final even though a much smaller number of schools in this. JMO

I agree with you that JBS needs to play as a team and leave the personal stuff out. I dont know if people realize how good this team is when they play team ball. Cox,Collins and Short that you mentioned can each take over a game if given the opportunity but these three kids are more about the team concept instead of other things. JBS really needs to get the ball inside more which would actually help the Stepp brothers because it would give them better shots from the outside if teams have to concentrate on the inside game. The scary thing is that this team is so good they can probably win either way but it would be easier and get more kids involved by doing the team thing. No one could honestly say the Stepp is not a good ball player but he would score just as many points and make others around him better if he involved other players.

99% of JBS scoring returns next year...

I like SL and hope they go far this year but this should stop the talk that no one in the mountains could play with them. I had always felt Paintsville and June Buchanan could give them all they want.

I saw Morgan Co's 3-9 record and thought Knott would have an easy one but Morgan stepped up to the challenge. Knott County is quickly heading towards another disappointing season.

If Lee plays at Hazard I will go watch that game...should be a good one...

I have not seen Breathitt play so I am not sure how good they are but it won't be long till they play JBS so then they can prove their worth.
