Morgan County 70 Knott County Central 67

A much needed win for the Cougars tonight. Morgan really seemed to run with the basketball a whole lot more and it paid off. Wes Montgomery had 20, Katlin Haney played excellent, I think in addition to scoring, he had 7 assists. Brandon Ferguson made 10-10 free throws and Sophomore Tyler Adkins iced the game with 4-4 FT late in the game.

Both teams played hard and offensively pretty well. It was nice to see the Cougars score.

Cougars were without starting PG Sophomore Cameron Dunn, who went down at East Carter last night to an ankle injury and of course 6'4" junior Stephen Barnett did tear his ACL last week.....great effort by the injury prone Cougars.

I saw Morgan Co's 3-9 record and thought Knott would have an easy one but Morgan stepped up to the challenge. Knott County is quickly heading towards another disappointing season.

Anyone know whats going on with KCC? With the talent they have seems like they should be doing better. IMO

Well maybe record wise...but when you look at what matters they are sitting pretty good. They are second in the district with a 4-1 record behind JBS who is 5-0 , Letcher 2-3 , COrdia 1-4, Jenkins, 1-4. SO id say they will be fine come district time.

I agree with you on district play but are they content now just to make the regional? Knott's goal should be to win the region not be satisfied to make it to the region. If Banks hadn't got injured Letcher may have been in second place. KCC is not playing to their capability, " IMO " , if they don't step up KCC may not make the region. Cordia, Jenkins or Letcher could upset them in district play. Personally I think KCC should be one of the top contenders for the region and hopefully they will be come tourament play. Let's face the facts they

are not looking very impressive right now. I would like to hear other opinions on why KCC is not winning at this point in the season.

Congrats Coug's on the much needed win, hopefully this can give Coach Perry's boys some momentum headed into this crucial part of the season. Here's to a few more wins.

since Knott went to the region championship game in 99-00 they have been down ever since, that year they went 18-11, they beat 24-7 Owsley Co, 21-9June Buchanan, and 18-9 Hazard, another fact, ever since that year, they beat Hazard 2 times that year, since they have gone 0-12 againt Hazard, and the same year they beat Breathitt 2 times as well, since they have gone 4-12 since against Breathitt
