That was a good win for them but I think that might be the only team they have played that has a winning record...

I have not seen SV play this year. Are they as good as their record or have they just played a weak schedule? Just curious.....

I have not seen Breathitt play this year but it looks like they have played a really easy schedule. I am going to wait until they play some hard games before I will think they can compete for the region title....

I havent seen all these kids play but Vanhoose has impressed me and Euton and Jackson also. Euton looks like a senior to me, how old is he?

I hope he goes to UK but the talk at the 5th 3rd was that he leaning towards Florida. National Champs,Donovan,top 10 team ranking this year,great weather......

This region will surely come down to one of these four teams. It is probably too early to see how good these teams will be when tourney time comes arould but Sunrise is right that playing good teams will help out later. The region is top loaded and the team with the most out of region experience will probably imrove the most. I watched the Knowles kid play in the 5th 3rd and was impressed and I think Miller is awesome. There is alot of talent in this region...

I think Scott Co is the true measuring stick for teams in Ky to see how good they really are...

I agree with you that he is a much better player when he gets the others around him involved. JBS could have an unbelievable inside game if they choose to use it. Collins could easily average a double-double and Trey Short who is 6"6" had 18 points 16 rebounds and 6 blocks in the Pendleton game and never got many looks in the next game. If they decide to use their height advantage Stepp would still get his points and the team would be more successful.

I thought Cordia would be better than their record shows this year considering that they brought back the core players of last years team...

I thought Male looked good in the tourney. I think their region is up for grabs this year with a number of schools with a shot at the title.

Shelby Valley has been looking good in the papers so till someone beats them I say SV by 12...

I watched JBS play Pendleton and was impressed with how they played team ball and they had 5 players get double figures. I missed the second game but did catch the Trinity game and I have no excuses but was impressed with the shooting and intensity of Trinity. This was a game that hopefully JBS will learn from and grow as a team. The one thing JBS must do to be a really good team is to get more kids involved in the game like they did against Pendleton. Cox and Short had 18 each and Clark Stepp had only 14 points but had 10 assists and that is when JBS is at their best. They are a young team that hopefully will learn from their first big tourney. Congrats to Trinity because they do have a good team and seemed to be very well coached. Good luck to both teams this year.

I am not sure if Stepp will play D-1 ball or not but he still has a year to improve in some areas. His outside shot has improved this year and I think that will decide how far he goes. He might not play bigtime D-1 ball but I hear that Eastern,Western,etc are recruiting him. You are right about Cox in that he is very impressive in his game and he could turn out to be something special. He is only a freshman. As a matter of fact this team does not start any seniors...

He has had a good year so far averaging 25 or so a game and has many schools looking at him. He did not get the points he usually does but did have 10 assists and other kids on the team helped out. No kid is going to play good on offense every game but some kids help in other ways if their shots are not going in....

June Buchanan by 5...

Tubby was there watching Stepp and he did get a double-double with 13 points and 10 assists. Trey Short had the big game with 18 points and 16 rebounds. The big Collins kid had 12 and Tate Cox had 18 and Clint Stepp had 12 and was the fifth JBS player to get double figures. This was a very balanced attack and Stepp probably was nervous with Tubby watching but did play a good overall game...

Actually if anything Mason Co got the breaks in the game. I am sure if June Buchanan went to Mason Co. they would get no breaks at all. Why dont you cry babies realize that June Buchanan has a good team that Mason County had problems with. Why dont you go ask your coach what he thought about June Buchanan? When he told you the answer you would not be honest enough to come on here and tell the truth. I am amazed that some Mason fans think they are the chosen team or something. You and your friend Mcroyal are going to have fans across the state hating Mason County with your arrogance.

I could not remember the score but it was by 4. Hazard comes away with two big wins over 11th region opponents since yesterday. I think the Dunbar game shows how unpredictable Hazard is.

Hazard wins this one by 4. Hazard has been up and down this year but gets a good win tonight.
