10th Region Favorites Revisited

Featured Replies

With the top three teams (Apologies to Montgomery County, I see them as a solid #4 right now. If they would beef up their schedule we'd have a better idea about them.) showing well in the 5/3 this week, I really can't see any separation between Brossart, Mason and Clark. In fact, I give the edge to Clark when they get Tristian Jones back in mid-January. They've done a lot of growing up this week.

Right now, however, I see little advantage for any of the "big three".

If GRC can beat them without Jones and Knowles then I don't believe Montgomery deserves to be mentioned with the top 3.

Any doubts that the top 3 in this region can compete with any in the state? IMO, all three are Top-10 teams...

:thumb: After seeing BB they made a believer out of me. I already knew that Mason and GRC would be there. Will know more about GRC after Jones has a few games under his belt.

Havent saw brossart yet, but sounds like they are right up there with mason and clark. Glad to see the 10th region strong like this again. Makes it great come tourney time.

Brossart will hook up with Montgomery County on Thursday night (6:30pm) in the opening round of the Pepsi Mason County Invitational Tournament (MCIT).

We should find out something about Montgomery County's being a top three/four team in that event.

As much as I hate to say it. I give the advantage to GRC right now. The Royals have some work to do, too many missed opportunities of late. Come March, I hope the strength of the Royals schedule will give the edge to them.

GO ROYALS!!!!

GRC has a heck of a schedule as well, maybe Gold could post for us how many ranked opponents they play.

So far GRC has played Madison Central, South Laurel, DeSales, Holmes and Male. Coming up is Holmes at GRC, then the Toyota Classic ( not sure who we play there but I am sure the field will be loaded) Then Mason , Lexington Catholic and Lafayette all at home. Teams that are not ranked but good teams that are on GRC's schedule include: Holy Cross, Newport Catholic, and Ashland. GRC has a tuff schedule...only make you better come tourney time. The schedule GRC has already played, without Jones and did great to me is impressive. What we have coming up when Jones is back will only make us battle tested and ready for post season.

This region will surely come down to one of these four teams. It is probably too early to see how good these teams will be when tourney time comes arould but Sunrise is right that playing good teams will help out later. The region is top loaded and the team with the most out of region experience will probably imrove the most.

I watched the Knowles kid play in the 5th 3rd and was impressed and I think Miller is awesome. There is alot of talent in this region...
