You might want to check into where Cooper plays. The biggest reason for some teams having more kids is because some coaches are better than others. Parents talk and ask who they think are the better coaches and they take their kids to those coaches and teams. I am pretty sure I know where your kid played and watching that team practice was pitiful. Probably the biggest reason for the Union Raiders, IMO, because a couple of dads put their money where their mouth is when the league didn't react as fast as they liked. All because they didn't want to play for those couple of coaches. The dynasty comment I am curious about, because keeping kids together is exactly what you are suggesting should happen. The draft originally was set up to keep teams as even as possible. Some guys sucked at it and didn't care, they would have been better pulling names out of a hat. Did it finally become necessary for the league to split into feeders for the high schools, yes. Should they have done it a year or two before they did, yes. I ask this all the time, what age do you stop preparing for the next level and winning games matters? Why don't we have minimum playing time for high school? Why don't we have minimum playing time for middle school basketball teams? If you teach kids how to play, play hard, compete hard, block, tackle, and learn the overall fundamentals wins take care of themselves. What you find out is that coaches at all levels that demand these things from themselves and their players are the ones that win a lot more often than not. Then because they win consistently, those on the outside think that is all they worry about, when it is more the opposite of that approach.

You mean the two 7th and 8th grade teams that practice in Florence and feed Boone don't count? Cooper's teams play in the BCPWFL, as do Conner's.

Even if they had a six team district they all would get in. I think it is awesome this way because the two districts meet each other in the first round.

Well, they dont have school buses. Also, it essentially costs the same to pay for the school buses as it does for charter.

Conner only had to replace one. Cooper had to replace a lineman also, that chose not to play. I should have said I think they return more.

Why? It isn't like Cooper took it to them last year, and Conner returns more from last years team than Cooper does. Comparing scores and trying to use them to predict future outcome is difficult to do especially in high school.
