Maybe I am missing something but the Ryle/SK game earlier this year, Ryle had 333 yards of total offense. -

Thanks, I should have went past Physics 101 in school or just have a better memory. -
I only recall a few zone read plays when he kept it. Tenn-Martin he kept it for a big run for a TD, but that was a naked boot pass play he kept and took it to the house. I would like to see him dump it off to the RB bubbling out of the backfield when pressured. I think sacks count against rushing totals in college.
-
What quarter was that play? I watched the game film and I didn't see it.

They do not run zone read with PT anymore since about the second game of the season because he gave it every time. Since they can't run the zone read they have to account for everyone on the LOS and that sometimes means a LB goes unblocked because of numbers. If they have 6 in the box that is one more than the OL can block because the QB is no threat. That means they have 5 guys left to focus on the WR's. If they put a TE in to help they just bring another LB into the box, so now it is 6 blocking 7, not counting the SS if they roll him down. Having no zone read hurts the offense a ton because you are eliminating a player from the offense on every run play.

J.T. Barrett arrested early this morning

Yeah, I need a lawyer for this.....what would a lawyer do anyway? Like I said you spent more time looking up Lowery. For the record, what ever UM felt appropriate is fine with me. -

So, you spent more time researching Ashely Lowery than looking up OSU policy? -
If you look closely the pass plays called in the Miss State game were different for Barker than they were for Towles. They ran quick passing game stuff with Drew and on two plays Drew checked to a different play. Dawson likes to run zone read but after their second game he stopped trying because PT was not reading it correctly, actually he never read it, he just gave it every time.

Ryle/Simon Kenton Playoffs Predictions
doubledeuce replied to uk#1fan's topic in KY Football (High School)
The OL cannot run block effectively. Look at who they are playing when the get high rushing numbers. On top of that, look at who is getting good numbers against what teams. -
Also, when they run the quick passing game, decisions are not made quickly.

Dawson cannot even try to run zone read running plays..... -
2015 is just a typical, bad Kentucky football team, right?

How many scholarship players on the roster are from Ohio? -
Considering Richt has only been a HC at Georgia, I am not sure, who to take. Coaching at what some consider a legendary program, in a football crazy state, a state that had over 225 D1 high school football players last years class alone(KY had 28), and all the resources you could ever need or want. You should have 8 or more wins every year and maybe just once you should play for the national championship in 15 years.

Alabama's defense is built to stop pro style offenses. What they are not built for is spread/single wing power offenses that are designed to use what defenders are taught against them. IMO....OSU wins!

Ryle/Simon Kenton Playoffs Predictions

If 333 yards equals 500 yards then yes. -
And they are only able to run a fraction of it....

Ryle/Simon Kenton Playoffs Predictions
doubledeuce replied to uk#1fan's topic in KY Football (High School)
The only success Ryle had on offense was early and it was the same play over and over. 2x2 set all 4 WR's running 5-7 yards hitches with the RB swinging out of the backfield. All the QB does is read the OLB lined up over the slot. At first SK had their OLB sitting on the Slot and allowing the pass to the back. After they moved the ball doing that they had the OLB jumping the RB and Morgan just hit the slot a few times, while the safety was trying to roll down to take the hitch to the slot away. They were late a few times and that is when England caught a couple of passes along with Jake Long. Then when the safeties got real aggressive Ryle did a hitch and go to Long for a big gain. Once SK settled down after the first few drives they stymied Ryle's offense. -
When your whole running game is based out of zone read and you cannot run it, not good.
