  1. Parents should start a "Adult" beverage drink list....as far as snacks with those beverages, who cares!
  2. Texas and Massachusetts are the only two states that do not follow NFHS rules, they use the NCAA rules.
  3. Uh, just get a chainsaw and have at it, just make sure you have someone videoing the whole thing.... And make sure everyone else in the neighborhood is in the clear.
  4. Most visiting team locker rooms can't hold the whole football team. Plus, they don't go straight to the locker room home or away because of all the equipment that has to be packed up and usually the underclassman are partly responsible for that duty along with some coaches. So, the football team is not going to leave anything out or small numbers of players/personnel on the field because like you said some teams and schools just open up the gates and let anyone on the field. Like you said basketball is right there on the court but there are never issues with basketball games and fans...
  5. After the game, who knows...we have threads on here about fans having issues where the other teams fans sit before and during the game. There is no need to go on the field for a team huddle. What other sport do the fans come down on the field for a team huddle?
  6. I agree totally! Then you have parents from team on the field with parents from the other team. All it takes is one person to say something.....
  7. I agree this isn't youth football, this is high school football. The biggest reason it is done at the youth level is to pass on information to players....but really information to the parents because the kids tend to not relay the info very well. This is just helicopter parents trying to stick their nose in to make sure they don't say anything negative about little Billy. If you say something negative you are a bad coach. Or to make sure the coach tells little Billy he made the play of the game. If he didn't mention it, he is a bad coach. Parents also want to here the reasons behind the coaching decisions....good luck with that. Here is what you get in these "group huddles," coach talk...blah, blah, blah.... So, now the coach will just wait until they get into the locker room to have a real team post game talk to point out the positives and negatives to the players.
  8. Not all the Cooper players took a knee for either team, the ones on the field didn't, the ones tossing ball behind the bench didn't, and the three or four on the sideline at the end near the scoreboard did not. Not taking a knee when a player is down, no matter what team, is not disrespectful nor does it lack class. I don't know where you played or coached either, but this taking a knee thing wasn't around here 5-7 years ago. So, I guess all these years of playing football, all over the country has been nothing but a constant display of disrespect towards one another. If a coach can't teach their team to stand there, be somewhat still, be respectful, and be quiet while a player is down then quit coaching. Body position has zero to do with class, respect, or concern for another player. Is a team more concerned when one of their team mates is down...uh, yes! That is part of the whole team and family unit, the closer something hits home the more concerned you are. That is no different in how we all lead our life's everyday. Just because one group or team chooses to one thing, doesn't mean that all other teams should do the same. What about the players who took a knee and did the sign of the cross, where they being more respectful or less? I told everyone that one teamwould find a way to be disrespected in this game!
  9. Watching my kids grow up and play, from my memory it all started with soccer. In particular with the younger ones, I think it was so the coach could give his full attention to the player down and not have all the little ones running around. Then as players have gotten older it just spread up and out....just a hunch
  10. Congrats to Cooper on the win! Congrats to Ryle on a hard fought game! Congrats to me for making the drive to watch it in person!
  11. Only half the Cooper team did it no matter what player was down....maybe not half but the players on the field didn't....or the ones tossing the football behind the bench...
  12. Oh, the Cooper fans sure do worry about it! They are so worried about their player down but they take the time to yell at the Ryle sideline, while the player is down.
  13. Second half they decided to run between the tackles instead of off tackle. Then on goal to goal Ryle had to line up tight and Jackson was able to bounce it outside for the score. Cooper completed several balls to Hendrix on one man pass routes, meaning only one guy went out for the pass. The route was a post/corner that was thrown on time and on the money almost every time.
  14. Well I consider 6 yards or less tight and I don't recall 8 in there. Why would they need to?
  15. It is unless you have a bye...or CCH is on your schedule and they have a Saturday game...
  16. I may be wrong but I have never seen Cooper with 8 in the box except goal line defense. Today was no exception, looked like a 3-4 with Schlarman as an inside Lb, lining up 6 yards off the ball ministering the Ryle RB. Seven guys in the box is what I kept seeing and every once in a while 5. Pretty much cover 4 the whole game for Cooper.
  17. I think you are correct about the as score. Cooper not picking up weak side blitz and Mieman is killing them.
