Ryle vs Cooper Predictions
If Tanner isn't allowed to call any play he wants at anytime in the game no matter the situation, they should fire the OC/QB Coach/ HC.

Ryle vs Cooper Predictions
If you say so, I see the same route combos as last year....the same ones that were ran at LexCath. Difference this year is that someone is making the reads and delivering the ball on time consistently. On top of that, Tanner doesn't try to force it when things are not there, he makes good decisions and just tries to takes what the defense gives him. He throws the ball with a purpose, not just to get rid of it! A passing game doesn't have to be sophisticated to be highly effective.

Ryle vs Cooper Predictions
2 deep man under is basically only used in 7-7 and that is because of math. If a team is playing 2 deep man under and the offense comes out with 4 wide outs, say 2x2 or 3x1 either one, that leaves 5 guys in the box to stop 7. If Cooper plays 2 deep man under Ryle when run the ball till the cows come home!

Ryle vs Cooper Predictions
Cooper won't change much or try to disguise anything, that's just not what they do. Cooper's 4-3(Occasional 3-4) defense has the OLB's wider than their DE's and if you are going to try and hit quick stuff to the slot you better see them and read them correctly. Their OLB's hole drop and make a lot of plays on the ball that most teams don't. Also, they eat bubble screens up and make it look easy. When you watch Cooper and see how they are lined up pre-snap(same look every play) everyone thinks they can just throw bubble screens all day long. But after a couple of those quick bubbles are completed and the coach sees he only gets a couple of yards or so, the head scratching starts. Facing a spread passing team is nothing new to Cooper. They see Conner every year and Conner's passing game is more sophisticated than Ryle's.

Ryle vs Cooper Predictions
I am assuming you are talking about playing walked up either tight man to man or bump and run. Again, I disagree on how I think they will and should play pass coverage. Cooper's corners will probably line up at about 7 yards and then do their drop, reading their keys. The goal is to break on the short stuff an meet the receiver when the ball arrives. Hard to sustain drives if you are hanging your hat on that approach because you have to make a lot of those plays. If they walk up tight on them, now you have a safety type kid trying to get his hands on a slot. That scenario is an OC's and QB's dream! Now, I do agree on Morgans ability but it is tough to do, however he certainly is capable of executing it and making the plays. Cooper just wants him to make a lot of plays. In high school, any team that has decent knowledge of the passing game, will make a man to man defense look silly. Now you can throw it in every once and awhile, preferably to only one side of the field but mixing it in I think is a good thing.

They cannot throw the ball very well.

Ryle vs Cooper Predictions
I agree about the CCH comparison, Ryle will struggle up front and have trouble moving the ball. Upfront in the trenches I think Cooper has a big advantage. I disagree about Cooper's db's having to press to cover the Ryle receivers. IMO, pressing up on receivers is one of the dumbest things a high school defense can do! Not to mention your secondary will not be able to help in run support at all. CCH kept trying it, and they gave up two 40 yard plus TD passes on a simple slant route. I guess they thought the first one was dumb luck....well the second one was just dumb! Cooper will not press, they will not gamble. Cooper will keep everything in front of them and they will break on the ball to try and jar it lose or prevent any yards after contact. To pass the ball effectively against Cooper, you will have to play pitch and catch all the way down the field, consistently. Cooper defensively understands that high school teams have a hard time putting long drives together throwing the ball. Plus, most high school play callers get impatient and will try to take a shot deep and they are not getting beat deep, often. In fact that deep ball has a good chance of getting picked. Playing the classic bend don't break defense keeps Cooper in games and frustrates OC's. It will be interesting to see if Morgan & Co can be patient, efficient, and content to just move the chains. To me, this will be a major factor in determining the outcome of the game!

Clarification is a good thing.

Right just throw it anyway, gotcha.

Overcrowded meaning more kids than the school was designed for. The state will not let you build a school based on projected enrollment only actual enrollment

Yeah we have overcrowding issues at each school...but let's spends millions on turf.

Did they stop throwing him the ball or was he no longer open?

So, you were sitting near Mr. young? He is usually the one doing the grading, in person. The head of officials gets all the game film to review...at least he used to!

I predicted Cooper would score more points than Dixie would gain throwing the ball, wonder if I was close?

How many passing yards did Dixie finish with?

I am glad you know where the Union Jags play, now tell me what is different from them compared to the other teams in the league? I know who your kid played for he was #12 in the 6th grade. The coach following Matteoli, was who I was specifically referencing, he was an assistant when your son played. Playing for Perkins and Hollis on the Tigers, is a good thing because they do a wonderful job IMO. Napier's team did not draft players, because the kids that played on that age group were not drafted, because you could sign up for what team you wanted to play for at the time. Also, he did not have anymore kids than a few other teams at the time. In fact for years the Bearcats had more players than any other team. The bottom line is that now the league is aligned with the high schools. Does that help the high schools overall, IDK?

Not good that GRC is a running team because Ryle is better at stopping the run than the pass...over the years...

If Kenton County Schools Principals are judged on athletic performance could you enlighten us on what they are hanging their hat on?

6A Playoff Projections
Like I said you are great.....and why wouldn't 6a follow the same set up as the other classes? So, what if they are scared, intimidated, and running away from having to play them until the finals? You are complaining about matching up with the other district in the first round, what is the difference?

Why would they be evaluated on athletic performance, when there is no athletic budget?
