I watched the film of the Trigg/Larue game, and it would be hard for me to believe that PT would lose this one. However, not having Rider may throw a wrench in the works.

E-Town gets revenge, and by a lot more than 10.

Lofton Howard will be the first ever non-Bardstown player I nominate for BGP All-State team. Probably also first ever OLB. Just really impressed with his brand of play.

Surely this will sneak them in. I know everybody awaits a match up with South Warren and Bowling Green, but the body of work has been very good so far.

Not the best showing by Bardstown, but a win is a win. We were always up at least 2-3 scores. We lost our best player, T.J. Greenwell, to a torn ACL week before last, and it sort of looks like we are figuring out how to adjust. QB Brayden Clark had a nice ballgame, running for a couple scores and managing his team. Defense exposed a bit in second half in the secondary. LaRue is feisty and played hard. These kind of ballgames happen, and is good when you win them.

Bethlehem has a capable QB in Cooper Stone, a talented RB in Zane Wickiffe, and seem to find new wideouts every year. I do know they are down on lineman this season and lack defensive experience. They haven’t really played anybody yet so will wait until after Holy Cross, Campbellsville, etc. before further comment. Stone leads the state in passing yards but also throws it 40x/game.

Pretty fair ranking, although I tend to think this past week was a blip for Glasgow and that they've been dropped too low. I'd put them in at 6 ahead of Bell. No shot on Bell, but Bardstown scrimmaged them in the preseason and I remember thinking that they looked unusually small for a Bell County team.

I could see that. That fits my "whoever scores 21" order. Plus, Glasgow is grouchy, I'm sure. Watch that #16 Lofton Howard and let me know what you think. I just really like his physical brand of play.

Weekly plug for Greenwood. Big win last week, another one coming this week. If they win that, and then an upset over either SW or BG, maybe they'll get some love.

I generally think its still kind of early on this, but it does give a decent measure of how things went with non-district play, playing against different classes, and the SOS of those teams. Everyone's in district right now.

Agreed. TNHS is historically bad.

BGP or RPI? I think with a Glasgow loss and a PT hard loss to South Warren, combined with a Bardstown win over a quality Spencer County team, we make a good case for BGP 3A#2. In RPI, we’ve got wins over 5A 4-1 Greenwood, 4A 4-1 Spencer, and 3A 4-1 E-Town, plus wins over another 5A and another 4A, so I think my answer is that David Clark planned well. my only caution right now is that our best player is out with an injury and that is certainly a factor.

Sure enough, I missed that. Good catch.

The trouble is, they would have to meet CAL in a region title game.?

Thank you, sir. I’ve seen a lot of football in my half century orbiting the sun, and I know brawler football when I see it. Greenwood may not have a lot of speed burners, but they have a huge roster, great size, and a street-fighting style of play.

Perhaps this win will provide some street cred to Greenwood for the 5A poll this week. That team is brawler good, and it is time to start recognizing Lofton Howard as a top player at his positions.

Let me just throw my little plug in here: Hart County started a wrestling program last year and had nice participation by the football team.

LaRue is very Jekyl and Hyde this season. Anyone know how they were shut out second half.
