I thought that was who the FB was but I wasnt sure. Bobby was alot better than eddie on D, But eddie was a load as a back not saying he was better than bobby but very few people if any on this thread had to tackle eddie in practice every day for 2 years. Well I tried to tackle him anyway LOL! It was like trying to tackle a locomotive.

I played with eddie, he and I split time at NG. He was great too. know that I think about it Im not sure what Bobby played on D but i know he got a full ride to marshall for defense. What are jones and howards numbers?

Pikeville 1987 Greg Hackney-HB-2000+yards Bobby Deramus-HB-1600 yards Cant remember the FB name-1000 yards Would have set any record in the free world if they hadnt have been pulled at haltime of most of their games.

No way! Jones & Howard were awesome but no way they were better than Hackney and Deramus.

Bobby was great as a back dont get me wrong. But his calling card was defense he was unstoppable as a NG.

I dont want to see anything added on, I would just like to the penaltys or non calls done properly. Our football officiating in this state is a joke.

The Honaker twins at Pikeville. These kids have all the tools to be great, not to mention the state championship bloodline.

Commitment and a good S&C program is what any program needs to either stay on top or get back there. Coach J is the real deal.

What do you think about our freshmen crop coming in next year?

They will be better I guarantee it for one simple fact Coach Jackson and Coach Copely are dedicated to making those kids not just stronger, but faster. Anyone who watched the Belfry,NCC,and Somerset games last year know that if we are going to beat those teams like we used to we must get stonger and faster in order to even compete with them. We had the athletes this past year to stay with if not beat every team I just mentioned. The training and conditioning just werent there and that isnt coach J or the current staffs fault. This didnt happen in december and january when it should have. Coach J didnt arrive till april when spring practice was already over, so there wasnt a whole lot he could do about it. Ive seen a little of the current staffs off season program and needless to say Im impressed. I believe there is no reason why we wont be better next year and even better in the years to come. Coach J doesnt want just one good team he wants a good program.

The kids are working harder and doing some things in the weight room that they should have been doing years ago. Plus we have a very talented crop of freshman coming up from 8th grade next year. I believe well be better than we were last year and even better in the next couple of years. The future looks bright for this team. Keep it up Coach J.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again that his community should be ashamed of tiself for letting another good coach and possibly some more good players go out of the community. But I guess I shouldnt complain. Let them come to Pikeville and well keep taking all these players that SV runs off because they dont play the 'in' sport and arent in the 'in' crowd.

Im very suprised that Greg Hackney from Pikeville hasnt been mentioned more than he has. He rushed for over 4000 yards in his career and was a mr. football finalist his senior year. His all time rushing record at Pikeville was the one that Brent Coleman broke, Greg set this mark in 2 years and Brent had to play all 4 to break it. Not to mention he was on 2 of the undefeated state champion teams.

I agree, not even hornung can match his stats.

Just saying Hampton is a good young coach, IMO. He made the best out of the whole Ben Howard situation that could have been disasterous. Id guess Hawood wouldnt have a problem with him being on his staff either.
