Agree w/ goherd. Russell played one of there games best this year at Papa John's on Sat. Yes there was times when something different could have been done. But this is High School sports and these kids are only 14 to 18 yrs old. They are going to make mistakes. But a big plus to this Senior group. Had doubts at the beginning of who would be the leaders. But it seemed that each senior took his role and made the TEAM better by making hisself a better football player and one complimented each other weather positively These Senoir's took the experience from last years leadership and raised the standard one bar higher for next years senior's. Congrates and thanks to you Seniors for your hard work, relentlessness, dedication to defended the "R"and your leadership. Cheerish this moment in time and always keep that DEVILPRIDE burning deep. Way to go Red Devils and the coaching staff. Well deserving and long over due. Coach Morris congrates. Russell seniors showed great leadership . They visioned this last year and work very hard on the off season and did whatever it took to get the job done. You set the standard for next season. This is going to be a good one. Russell's offense has so many things to throw at a team. Non like the previous years. Belfry stayed on there heels the 1st half. Russell D-fence is swarmming. Need to preasure on this QB. Make him & the Aces turn the ball over. With Russell's O-fence controlling the ball it makes it hard for the other team to score. Fatigue factor will not be a problem. These kids are conditioned and READY. This team knows how to Defend the "R". Taking nothing away. OCath is no push over either. Does O Cath have a kicking game? Agreed w/ Jeepman. Could very possible come down kicking game. Russell kicking game has not been utilzed to it's fullest in past few weeks. #23 Evans has kicked 40 -45 yrds in many practices and is hitting mid 90% PAT's. Dolley has improved on the kickoffs also. Meko tied the record of 47 yrds in 1974, Clyde Waggoner agaisnt Raceland and bounced off goal posts and went in. But thanks for recognizing the kicking game.

Last week it about bit us in the butt for going for 2. Understand the reasoning but wrong time of the game tonight. You have a kicker hitting upper 90%, give him his due and get the sure thing. Goal and 6 inches and you have a right handed QB roll out to the left on a pass play, when your running game is what got you there and was getting 4+ yrds a carry. Russell continues to improve every week. Russell starters will have to play more than 3 qtrs this week. Special teams could be a factor this Friday night, Xtra pts & FG's if given the chance. #45 Edwards & #11 Lewis are another weapon for the opponentsto key on. Holes are being created up the middle by good blocking from the interior line and #62 Gullett is a big factor for this. Go Devils and Defend the "R" with Devil Pride. Russell 45 :fire: Newport 21

Ashland has really turned up there program. Holbrook, Reliford ,Castle and others are hard to stop. That Red Zone D-fense is tough.Playing in Putnam Stadium is just a plus. Rockcastle is always tough. Ashland 35 Rockcastle 19

Russell advances on. Mercer has some size but the Red Devils has the quickness and speed kills. Russell's defense is tops. I was at the game and it looked like Russell had just as many fans if not more. The Pride runs deep at Russell. Gives the kids there dues. Thay wanted it more than Ashland. They never quit and if they were tired it did not show. Some bad play calling on Ashland last possesion was costly. Good Job Russell

:fire: Great win for Russell coaching staff &freshman players. Russell had about 15 players on the side line that were freshman. The others were 8th graders. Russell players stepped up and many players never came out of the game. The usual cross town rivalry is always a barn burner. #13 Abrams played a heckuva game and was well deserving of Offensive MVP. ( JFL 49ers) Good job Drew. Turnovers were rampant on both sides of the field.
