1 example of Glaser's class....During this year's football parent's meeting, Coach Glaser gave probably what all Coaches give in regards to a speech. He talked about rules and expectations and so forth. Then he shared a story about one of his X teams. Glaser told these parents about one of his proudest moments of coaching....and it wasn't the state championships, the records...or any of that...it was the following: Glaser shared how one of the players on the team had lost a very close family member. That player missed a couple days of practice...of course. But when the rest of the team was running hills....this player...just a couple days from a terrible loss....shows up at the bottom of the hill ready to be with his team. Glaser...now all choked up and with tears in his eyes.....describes how the players on that team cheered wildly for their brother as he ran full sprint up that hill. He then describes how the players hugged this young man and how he needed to be with his brothers that day. .....I cannot begin to express the emotion and depth of this story in this post as Glaser did that day.......I cannot come close to the emotion of all the parents in that room.....I can just tell you that without a doubt.....there is no other Coach that I would trust my boy with more than Coach Glaser.....and he already has one of my boys with 3 more on the way! He is teaching way more than football....he is teaching true brotherhood and how men should act in Jesus' footsteps. Has he made mistakes? Who hasn't? I believe even Jesus trashed a church in anger.....and NO I am in no way comparing Glaser with Jesus so don't even start....just pointing out that we all have flaws.

I think a lot of people outside the Louisville catholic arena forget that these same X and T players were teammates in grade school. I have many T friends that I have kept up with over the years. At work the T and X graduates seem to just gravatate towards each other. I spent all week at work, hanging T posters (with slight humorous changes) around the building. I also spent time taking Trinity stickers off my car and erasing various T slogans written in shoe polish on my windows. Outsiders get worried that these childish and fun pranks will make the target mad.....but it doesn't because it just all part of the fun.

Two great Posts by XTIGER. I too, was disappointed by some calls.....but they DID go both ways. It is no excuse. Trinity played a better game...period! X shot themselves in the foot on what felt like every drive. They're line was un-disciplined. Way too many procedure penalties. You will never beat a team of Trinity's caliber with that lack of focus. Trinity played the game that they had to play and won. They deserve it. You can come up with 100 excuses of why we lost....Curley getting hurt, Glaser's loss, Vic's asthma problems, bad calls,...etc...but obstacles are a part of the game and part of life....You deal with it! You adapt and you overcome! Trinity did and they won. Congrats Rocks!........and just you wait till next year!

X had penalty..... after penalty..... after....well you get the idea. Trinity executed and X did not. Trinity was the better team.

I have to give some credit to the rocks ...and not about the win but for another thing...class! I, being a veteran, was very moved by your student section singing the National Anthem as the Bugle player played. They sang with pride and a patriotic spirit. It is awesome seeing young men showing this kind of National Pride. I was also impressed with Petrino. At the end of the game, one particular Tiger was having a very hard time....Petrino went to that X player instead of the Trinity team celebration. Petrino pulled that Tiger up off the ground and then hugged him. He stayed there with him for at least 2 or 3 minutes. Now that's class! For a 17 year old boy to pass up personal glory to comfort an opposing player is breath-taking. But that's what Trinity and X football is all about.......class. Congrats Rocks you earned the title on the field and earned much respect for the way your students behaved off the field.

Great game Rocks....You were the better team tonight. We just couldn't get going..those 80 yards in penalties in the first half were killer. Your D stepped up on some big plays.

I have to agree with you 100% on this. And then those writers depend on stats which can be very deceiving especially when trying to compare say RBs and QBs. 1. Did the team have a lot of blowouts and sit their star...limiting stats? 2. Did the team have a lot of blowouts and play their star..padding stats? 3. Did the team have a stellar defense..and the offense always got a short field...limiting yards? 4. Competition...weak?....easier to shine.....strong?.....tougher to shine 5. Did the coach run a balanced attack?...star now has to share touches? 6. Did the coach just feed his stud?.....star gets all the touches? 7. RB's..did the coach use his star RB on a lot goal-line situations?....hurting Yards per carry average but padding TDs? 8. And the biggest one of all...How good was his O-Line? Big holes to run through and lots of time to pass to a receiver can make an average RB or QB look stellar. There is nothing like watching a player in person on several occassions....that's why colleges and Pros use scouts.

Not to mention the best High School Championship game ever played IMO Trinity Vs. Male....Brohm vs. Bush... Take a couple guys out of the box on D and Male might have a couple more titles. They always seem to have the best talent...

OOOh so all public school parents are poor now? At some time...you have to quit making excuses. Excuses are for the weak. They are for people who are afraid to make the challenging and necessary steps to succeed. Instead of coming up with lame excuses like some parents are too poor or the kids at my school are too smart to play football.....why not adapt and overcome? I have to work two jobs to send my kids to private schools. My wife also works 2 jobs....We also have helped coach them in several sports. No excuses! we do what we have to do and what we WANT to do for them. Two of my boys have asked about these speed schools and I will do what I can for them. That's my job...No excuses! How's that for unpopular.....The truth always is!

anyone can go to these schools...it's just like Champions baseball camps. only they coach speed. I guess you could say they are buying Championships...because their parents support them when they ask to go to these schools.....can't be parent invovlement either

I second this motion! combined with strength!! There are several "speed schools" that have sport specific programs.

and that extra effort by those T B-ballers has paid off.....they are starting to make some noise on the hardwood.

Please explain how the numbers advantage does not translate to basketball. It seems that your argument is that they have a bigger pool of boys to choose from.....if so how come we don't get better basketball players too? We are selecting a team from the same pool of boys. ...and now we only have to find 5 great athletes to put on the floor than 11.

You do have a good coach........and I witnessed several T players attending speed school at Velocity on their own time and paid for out of their (parents) own pocket...They are working harder to achieve a goal....but that's not it either!

I do not remember his name but he was a very tough runner....He seemed to always get an extra 2 or 3 yards after contact. Butler was undefeated until the last game of the season against X

1. Only 11 can play at a time...there is actually a penalty for 12 or more. If this point was valid then X and Trinity would be dominating basketball...they are not. X and T have not been to the finals in many, many years! 2.Working harder...can't say..do not know what other programs do....do know that these guys do work hard in off-season as well. 3. maybe 4. Excellent coaches that not only teach football, but teach life and get involved in these kids lives as well. That is one of the reasons for the large numbers..everyone wants to play for these coaches...also asst. coaches are top notch also...heck the freshman team's Lineman coach is NFL All Pro Lineman Will Woolford. Hard to beat that. 5.Only facility draw at X is the largest high school weight room in the state. ...for all that hard work from # 2. 6. Very tight bond......beyond playing together...pray together...and are family together .Ex-tiger Will Woolford is a volunteer! Glaser and the majority of the staff are all graduates. This bond might explain 38,500 fans at a regular season high school football game. In the top nationally!

He played for Sacred Heart Model, then when his family moved to Ind. He played for St. Anthony's Football team that competes in the Louisville Catholic Athletic Association.

RB Vic Anderson of X has to be high on the list.
