Dixon??? Too many turnovers and can't score. Ball handling is definitely not his strength. Only true point guard on the bench is Castleman and he doesn't seem to be playing with any confidence. The real question is when is Smith going top get an opportunity? Has been their best player on the JV level all year.

Too many questions about eligibility and who is not playing. Focus should be about the kids who have taken care of their business in the classroom. Time for someone from the Eagles bench to step up.....Castleman, Felts or Smith will need some productive minutes for Scott to win.

CC & Scott both coming off of difficult losses. Think CC playing at home gives them a slight advantage. If Scott is missing a couple of starters for the game that swings the advantage to Campbell County in a big way.

Should be an interesting match up this Thursday. Early district preview....

This ones a little tough to buy into, but hey, everyones entitled to their opinion. CovCath by 10 at home. Got to believe Jacobs will bounce back from HC game with a big game.

This isn't one of Conners better teams. I think Highlands wins by 15 on the road.

Cooper & Mutsch both have enough size to bang with Howard. Howard will still get his 10-12 boards but will he get enough quality looks to score 15-20 pts the Eagles will need. Match up that will decide the game will be Uebel & Seiter versus Sharp & Whitehead.

Interesting to see how Scott responds after a tough loss to Russell. Scott's schedule from this point is extremely difficult. Brossart has enough good size to make Howard earn every bucket. Scotts guards will have to handle Brossarts half court defense. Scott's depth or lack of depth is going to start playing a role in their success/failure the rest of the season.

What time and where will this game be played?

If Scott can continue their run and Howard continues to post or average a double/double Howard would have to be considered. Still hard to look anywhere other than Jefferson for Holmes. Best player on best team theory. However, if a Kyle Howard or Vories or Jacobs can lead their team to a regional title????

I think the N Ky portion of the 10th has given Scott a lot of respect. If they can continue with the solid play against quality teams then respect will follow from the others as well. :dancingpa

Would love for the Camels to pull out a W, too many factors not in their favor. PC is a tough place to play anytime, but Homecoming night will probably add to that flavor. The fact that these teams did play recently with CC hanging around means they won't be sneaking up on PC. PC pulls away in the 4th Quarter to win by 10-12.

Conversation in N Ky has to start with Kyle Howard of Scott :laugh: :laugh: . I think Cinti Enquirer article after Boone County game stated that he has had 11 or 12 consecutive double/doubles.

As much as I love Dixies offense when they are hitting their perimeter shots the lack of an inside game is going to cause them to struggle. Highlands pulls this one out in the 5-10 pt range.

Kiernan hasn't played against a big man with Howards mobility, Howard hasn't played against a big man of Kiernans sheer size. Should be a great match up!! NewCath traditionally guards well on the perimeter. If Kiernan and Howard cancel each other out it will come down to guard play. Too close too call!

Eighth grade success doesn't always mean success at the high school level. Look at the current senior class at Dixie & Scott. The Turkeyfoot and Woodland were top of the class and staged some great games and the great things were predicted for both high schools from these feeder schools. Scott & Dixie both appear to be solid programs and very good players still remain in each program, but I don't know if either has reached the level that was predicted from the middle school success. Kids move out, other sports take precedence, priorities change, puberty finally evens out the playing field.

:ylsuper: :ylsuper: Great Call!! Penick represented himself very well over the summer and displayed skills that he doesn't get the opportunity to showcase. What is going to give hime the opportunity to succeed at college is his ability to play away from the basket. Too many times a big kid is pigeon holed as only a post player and instead of maximizing his ability to play at the next level it has probably been minimized.

If he just did turn 15 he would still be approximately a year older than most of the freshman that he is playing against and every year at that stage of puberty is huge.

Might have something to do with Waltons reputation as one of the finer schools in the state of Kentucky, regularly recognized for their academic achievements. The big question here is that Asst Coach Sullivan earned a reputation at Campbell County as a builder of the program from elementary school on up with his contributions at the AAU level. Can they do the same thing at WV? If the 7th grade guard mentioned above is Sullivans kid, do they have enough talent to build around him?

Holmes v Holy Cross has always been a back yard brawl. All of Latonia clears out and heads for the gym. Highlands v CCH when both teams are good have great intensity. Who can forget the Derek Smith/Jared Lorenzen HHS teams playing CovCath and the most creative student section in N KY. :dancingpa
