Didn't someone post that Scott is "overachieving"? How low were the expectations if this is true?

Sharp & Whitehead sat out for the Eagles. Foul trouble for Howard in the 3rd. Camels let lead slip away in the 4th but hold on for the "W".

At first heard someone say that the expectations were high when they were 12-3. Now they sit 12-7 and people say they are overachieving lol its halarious. Bottome line they look sluggish, they look flat thier legs are GONE...when you have no bench it later starts to show and these guys are struggling on offense to get their legs underneath them to make shots they need like a Week off from basketball and probably need to study to get their grades up lol

Scott expcected as a team to be the number one seed in their district and they expected to have a better record than 12-7 at this point. Scott has not over acheived in their minds they are playing some what down from they wanted to be. They are going through a tough time right now and i know coach carr will get them through it. Come march when they are at full strength they will be tough to beat!

These are the games that make you better in late February and March. The paper says they have Highlands and Pendleton Co next week. It sure doesnt get any easier.

They have a very good chance to play at Mason in the regional tournament. Once you get there anything can happen. They need to develop a bench now and keep their focus. They can't get too high or too low after a loss or win. They have to keep working hard and improving. You can throw last nights game out because they were not even close to being at full strength.

Hey Tiger1 how about a game report! I heard they were only down 2 with about a minute to play. Turnover and then a bad shot and they were down 6. Is this true?

From what I heard from a reliable source at the game, Miller and Felts played well in place of Sharp & Whitehead. I also heard that Howard was getting mugged underneath and the refs were not taking control of the game.

 

This game really didn't matter right now in terms of seeding because these two will play again in the districts, but come late February there will be a different ending from last night's game.

So are they overachieving or not? When I mentioned in the game prediction thread that I had heard some criticism of the coach's handling of players, more than one said that since they are "overachieving" it doesn't matter.

 

If this team is overachieving, the bar was set very low.

Does it really matter? :confused: They won 9 games last year, I'd say they're headed in the right direction.

I'm sure Reitz showed Scott a lot knowing that he would have to beat them to get out of the district. :thumb:

However, I'm just trying to get a read on the program.

They were for the first half of the year, but lately have faced much tougher competition and with players having to sit out for various reasons that is obviously going to hurt. 12-7 is a better record at this point than what I, at least, thought they would have, considering their extreme lack of depth and lack of talent. (Howard and possibly McCord being exceptions)

Not a knock on Miller and Felts, but what about Castleman? Shouldn't he be the one filling in for Sharp or Whitehead?

I was at the game and there was a fair amount of mugging going on by both teams. Scott did their share of grabbing, pushing, shoving and elbowing without getting caught as well. As far as the officiating, I have been in the 10th region for many years and that is the way the games are called. It's not the 9th region where you breath on somebody and they call a foul. Get used to it, your not in the 9th anymore.
