Opps, didn't know that, at the time most just ignored him, there is a word called "class" that is out there and some have it, but like I said he is a kid. I'm sure once he gets to the state of Alabama he will ease up. We think it might be several years before he sees any action.

Hoosier, any coach would be a fool to show everything he has in a practice game. His speech might be very good and like I said the kids will play hard. But its still what it is.

Really hate to hear about his injury, I also had a son a senior miss his year due to an injury. Still bothers me when I discuss it. Hope he finds some peace with it.

GURU, I'll try but I don't much about Highlands except do they have to share practice time with girls, the Rocks don't, also if I win the Powerball and want to share in the Rocks football can I do the same at Highlands with out helping the girls? Can a Boone County kid go to Highlands and not have to sit out, could my son attend there? Does Highlands have a 12 county range for kids coming to the school? Do they have mandatory Religious classes? How does their kids get to Highlands is there a bus? How many coaches are allowed and the pay scale at Highlands? Is there a dress code at Highlands? Is there a turf at Highlands? Yes, I've been there and also St X /Rocks who else in the state has one? When Cris gave a donation for the field was the girls teams allowed to have some also? Girls period? Oh wait I meant girls only , now is that a issue, I mentioned girls sports, can a kid transfer to Highlands and not miss a second? Is there contact allowed for 8th graders at Highlands, where do they get their 8th graders from, how many schools? I haven't seen their weight room fieldhouse at Highlands.

Highland and Trinity, its a practice game, doesn't mean a thing except for a kid trying to win a spot, so the kids will play hard.

Trinity is a private school, and Highlands is a public school.

"leaving it all out on the field", yeah right, and yes, the Bluebirds/Rocks same statement from me, wait I'll go and post it over there. I've seen three Male/Bluebirds practice games and all I remember was this kid from Highlands getting hurt, and how bad I felt for him. In these games kids will play hard, they have pride and some are trying to win a spot, so it has its values, but us as fans picking scores and trash talking, well I'll shut up and leave.

Its a practice game for crying out loud! You think these coaches are gonna show their true game plan?

Male travels out of state to play Floyd Central. No JV/Freshman games that week.

GURU mentioned the Ohio public schools and how well they do. Does anyone know if they have busing across their largest county? Do they still have neighborhood schools? Do they have Public Schools they where you have to apply like Manual and get selected? Do they have traditional program as Male and Butler where kids have a random draw to get in? In these cases you have kids who are brother/sister and go to different high schools. Is their boundaries as messed up as they are in Jefferson County? I have more but don't want to say stuff.

When do you think the Jefferson County schools beside the district ones will play Trinity again? I think they all need to try harder to catch up with the Rocks.

AllTell, "drug kicking and screaming to the game", I don't get what you mean there? Male JVs why wouldn"t they play the Rock JVs? Are the freshmen playing also? I haven't seen anything on those games? What you highlighted on my comment was the "teams are looking forward to playing the Rocks," but I can only speak for one for sure, and they are not afraid.

Very nice work on the previews. I enjoyed reading about teams not in my county, I know enough about local teams. I look forward to reading all the other previews. As for the Rocks, they are the team to beat, but teams in their District are looking forward to playing them and are not afraid. Something along the line of "putting on their pants the same way". On the Male post about their lines being small as a Bear Bryant person, I know for a fact that he would only want small linemen. They were quicker and in a running offfense thats what you want. Go Dawgs!

Sutton, I have three sons that have played/play sports. In my years we have met some real great coaches, and we have also met many that has no business coaching anything. I'm not a shy person, and when comes to my kids, I watch things very close.

Just cut my grass and went into the cold shower for about 45 minutes, and we know its hot. How is your team handling this really hot index? I just sit in the shade and watch and I had to take a shower when I got home. Plenty of water breaks and the trainners are watching the index. 1969-71 we got very little water, we got salt tablets. I believe it will be hot again next week. This heat wave is in many states. I want to go look at some cars, but man no way with those doors being closed, I'll have to wait.

Practice game, I don't put stock in them to pick a winner, no one wants to show go much, kids get playing time, coaches trying new things, But I'll go with X. 45-0

^^^I was thinking the same thing, and pre season picks are always a bunch of nothing.
