I've not been watering my lawn in support of the Jumpers, got to have that field ready- just kidding. As AverageJoe said, there's plenty of water in Lake Cumberland.

I'm not for sure the guys name that supervised the field overhaul, he takes care of UK's fields (so I've been told). He said not to worry that everything will be fine with the grass. The sprinklers are running several times a day, so water is not an issue.

The field is now finished....oops...someone forgot the grass! It appears that the new 21 head sprinkler system is working fine on the mud. Anyone have any information on how long it takes for bermuda grass to grow where it is play worthy? The administration seems to think it will be ready for the Ray Correll Bowl on August 24th. Myself I don't think so, I think that Bob Tucker better be calling Pulaski or Southwestern and have plan B in place.

Is Harp an assistant coach at a school north of Pulaski Co.?

No, I don't think he is a candidate for the job. Not heard Jackie's name for a while, I had him in PE back in Elem. school.

I've not heard his name being mentioned.

I do believe that Somerset does play Corbin this year at Corbin.

I can assure you that you are getting one of the best coaches in the state. Cobb would do anything for his players, he will be missed very much here in Somerset.

I have been told that it has been very hard on Cobb and the players. They had a very emotional meeting today.

It is my understanding that the assistant coaches are staying behind to coordinate the passing camps. I can't think of any reason that this would hamper the Ray Correll Bowl. In fact it may make it more interesting, I would hate to be in Johnny Hines position now. He has no idea how to be preparing for Somerset now.

As of today Somerset has a short list of 3 coaches, none which are local. Hope to hear more in the next few days.

All of my sources indicate that Cobb has taken the job at Henderson Co. and will not be returning to coach Somerset. Congratulations to Henderson Co.

The last thing the program needs is a quick hire. Select an interim coach to keep things organized and possibly run this football season. I would imagine that an interim will be made shortly. Somerset needs to make sure that they have the right man running the program so I hope that the selection process is done in the right manner.

It's a sad day here in Somerset, Cobb was liked by players and fans! Good luck in Henderson Co.

Johnny Hines from Pulaski Co., I couldn't agree more with Jumper Dad!! I wouldn't be surprised if Johnny doesn't already have his name in the pot.

Man I remember that game, field was a mess. Field had alot to do with it but if I remember right, Ross Deaton was off that night passing the ball. Everything was short all night, not taking away from Harlan's D because off all the games that I watched last year they by far had the best D--sorry Southwestern.
